Ok, i want you to run diskmgmt.msc and tell me if a drive is there that isn't loaded properly. If your D drive doesn't show up there, i want you to unplug and then replug all of your wires into it and try again. Finally if that doesn't work, check your bios to see if it sees it. If it doesn't, you've got a door stop.

FKL Tech Support Moto: We make no guarantee that we can get anything working again, but we do suggest steps you can take to see if your product is dead or not, and then suggest fun things you can do if said item is broken.

Well, greatfully, a reset got everything back in order.

What is lots of fun is resetting a drive that was writing a CD when Windows crashed.
