It seems that this confirms that the action pallete only has 3 "custom" weapon setup slots the way it was speculated before (it even shows one of the slots empty in page 2).

Now all we need is a translation of the other two pages, it's likely that the trigger conditions for sub-weapon and nanoblast are mentioned there.

Huh, I like the sounds of this switchable pallet thing! Dealing with a dude up close? Bust out some daggers. Air raid? Pull out dual handguns. Need to heal? Bust out a Rod.

Whoa!!!

It's a bit diferent then I thought it would be. By the looks of things, I can cahnge between holding a gun and a sabre to holding a sword all at the press of single button?

More wild speculation: perhaps the weapon sets will be a second or third alternate action pallet. The PS2 and most computer gamepads certainly have enough in the way of shoulder buttons to handle it...

So it still quite possible we could have 2 sabers, or 2 handguns. They did not display every possiblity, but it looks like you only get 3 others combinations at a time. Perhaps it because the screeshot was shown when the player only had few weapons.

Sword's and the magic staff are 2 handed, so no combos there. What I want to know is when they will show game screen of the normal sword, and those other rifles. All they seem to be showing is Ethan's personal sword, and the flame version of it.

Sub weapon and nano blast may be similar to photon blasts. You charge'em up to the max then release it.

keibuchuu from gamefaqs translated the info:

translated by me:

ACTIONPALLETE:

This feature talks about duel wielding weapons. Players are able to set up a chart (actionpallete) corresponding to which weapons they want to bring into battle and how they want to use them (ie. left hand pistol right hand dagger/saber)

the players can save their pallete for quick use and it can be customized at anytime even during battle.

SUV-WEAPON

a special weapon launched via satellite that only the cast species can use. can be used hourly and is VERY powerful.

NANOBLAST

Talks about the beast class special. The affects from the sudden changes in a planets environment. the ability to transform hourly into a VERY powerful form which of course consists of a a VERY powerful attack.

Hourly special attacks is interesting, will make it a bit easier to plan ahead compared to how the photon blast system worked in PSO.

Hopefully keibuchuu will translate the rest of the psu site.

The Gh0st on gamefaqs sent the PSU "flash" website through a google translator, roflmao.

I found other translation done by GaijinPunch (on the same topic):

I hope they keep the beats system, since it PSO'ish, cept I doubt anyone figured out how to use it. lol. Sure it was a universal time system, but not many knew what beats were in hours and minutes. PSO should've had a simple universal time that still used 24 hours, just make its own timezone, easier to calculate.

I just though about that after reading the part where nanblast and sub weapon were hourly. In other words it takes an hour to charge, not available on the exact hour. Otherwise everyone on the planet would be unleashing hell every time the clock strikes another hour.

Also, since beasts get nano blasts, casts get sub weapons, I think humans shoudl get photon blasts, and newman should get a incredible technique explosion, like the biggest grants ever, or atleast have natural techniques (without needing a magic weapon).

Or humans and newmans will not get anything to give people an incentive to play something else.

No way, they could give the male human a severe disadvantage and people would still use him.

Yeah I assumed it will take an hour to charge as well. Think this will work better than the PB system which required you to be in combat (unless you had a unit), and you didn't necessarily know when you'd reach full. The hour charge thing will mean you can choose the best time to attack a boss.

I think we will find that Beast and Cast have *very* poor technique ability, so this is their compensation. So this will balance the 4 races more.

I suggested this ages ago before GC PSO came out when we knew of each species' abilities: Humans could always have a natural defense to status effects that gradually become stronger as you level up.

Whatever's in PSU > Photon Blasts

Photon Blasts became harder and harder to get as you leveled up. They pretty much became useless in Ultimate. And Forces could just forget getting them at all. Rangers got it hard.
