Game informer online has a new PSU article at this link: http://www.gameinformer.com/News/Story/200508/N05.0825.1916.41468.htm

Haven't read it yet, so I don't know if its anything new or not.

Also Sega is trying to allow PC players to play alongside PS2 players, but that is also not determined.

Bullshit. If that's not in, then I'm not getting the damn game at all.

This article has a major "whaaaaaaat?" in it:

Races available are Hunter, Ranger, Humans, Newmans, and Casts (androids). Sonic Team has added one new race for Phantasy Star Universe – beasts – which have the special ability to transform into a beast-man.

Whaaaaaaaat?

Those Game Informer guys are clueless, more often than not. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

GC PSO's review was titled "Is it for Dreamcube, or Gamecast?"

All they "reviewed" was the graphical content, and thus decided it was a lackluster game. Like a 6 or something. Saying it didn't improve any over the Dreamcast versions. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_nono.gif

What a bunch of lamers. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif Their humor isn't funny either. I got 2 years worth of their magazine after getting the 10% discount card(for used games) at a Gamestop, and I'll never do that again.

EGM > Game Informer

Lol, why, why do they do stuff like that?

We've had and EGM article explaining the races, months ago, and even though the main site is in japanese we've already figured it out. Those morons...

I'm pretty sure the slim PS2 does. EyeToy connects by USB, they wouldn't have taken it out.

Edit: Yes the slim PS2 still has the 2 USB ports, they've just been moved to the back:

If you look right on the front of the slim PS2, just below the cover open button, you'll see two USB ports.

Tell me about it! If they don't implement that feature, all of my plans will be ruined! -_-#... Heres to hoping...

We'd end up playing with a community of 100 people if that happened... just like PSO BB

It's in their best interest to keep both PC and PS2 versions linked.
They know the community will be MUCH bigger like that, so they can do it if they really put an effort into it.
FFXI could do it(and PSO, albeit not officially, but that homebrew server everyone knows about has PC and DC versions together, so if some non-professional programmer can do it, so can Sonic Team if they really want it) so PSU can do it too.

You guys all complain about the tiniest things. A game can be fun even if pc cant play with ps2. It's your loss if you don't get the game and miss out on a great time just because they can't play together.

And for whoever posted about gameinformer's pso GC review; they gave it an 8 out of 10 and the dreamcast version a 9. They give good reviews and they barely reviewed the graphics at all. To quote: Not much different than the original Dreamcast version, but thats not a bad thing.

So go back and read it again, because they aren't at all clueless.

However... It is no small complaint when you will be completely barred from playing the game with all of your best friends... Sure the game can still be fun... But it's more important to me that I have fun with people I really want to have fun with, and not just groups of strangers met online... http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Well, that thought pattern can be countered by saying that the same friends you play online were at some point strangers themselves.
But I won't elaborate further on that since I understand exactly what you mean with that and agree.

I just don't want a dead online community. I pretty sure it will be the majority who goes to PC.
