Do we know for sure if the servers between PC and PS2 will be linked?

We don't know for sure, the only thing we know is that Sonic Team said they had plans for both to be linked and were working on that.

I think that linked servers would be way better because then all the PSU players would be together instead of having the them be seperate (even though some are on PC and some are on PS2).

If not, then the few ps2 psu owners are screwed.

Exactly, I was planning on getting PSU on PS2, but if the servers aren't going to be linked then I'm going the PC route.

What about lag though. I know about the game being broadband only now, but what about people with bad pc's? If there's settings aren't set right, and the pc is slowing down, they will lag.

That's not lag, that's a bad framerate. Lag is caused by a bad internet connection, or network congestion, but is not determined by your framerate, and not affected by it in the least.

Yes that's what I should've said, but its still a problem. People with the bad framerate end up falling behind. They'd hold up the team! But this will probably be a rare occurance.

That's why people with worse PCs (actually everyone, but I won't go into a rant about this) should activate the "auto frameskip" option for PSOBB, to keep the speed constant even if your framerate drops, thus avoiding unsynching (it can still unsynch, it'll just be less unsynch prone).

or simply switch adv. effects off.

Which means... if you can't afford the computer... go with ps2.

I'm sure the servers will be linked (much like FF11), but instead of permanent servers... it would be several to choose from just like in the past.

Because then we'll have that same problem trying to get us all on one server like FF11.

Sega may be stupid... but not that stupid. $$$ is involved.

Alienware computers are built for gaming... If you can work 2 months (before December) then... you can play PSU with no problem. SEGA is aiming for the Broadband audience. Dial-up is possible. Saves are server-side.

So possibly, will it matter where you play from? As long as you have others with the game you can pretty much play from anywhere the game is installed. So no need to take the actual disc with you. I'm sure there is some network service off-game in which you can recieve mail and chat.

(I hope, LOL)

omg that was a nightmare in FFXI >_> At least in other MMORPGs they let choose the server so you can be with ypur friends -__-; and yes I know about the world pass thing but still, it's just making things harder for the players ><;; I hate in general the server thing in MMORPGs actually, it's annoying going like "You play WoW?!" "Yeah I do! Which server are you on?" "-server here-" "Too bad... we're on different servers >_>" But yes it'd be complicated to not do it like this and still have the server not plagued with lag because of the ammount of ppl. I always liked that about PSO and GW http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

Yeah they should be linked because I think PSU should be for both the console gamers who played PSO in the very beginning and also for PC gamers who either don't have a PS2 or want better since they've invested on a powerful PC. Both options are great and I've even thought my sister may be happier playing on the PS2 since her PC isn't that up to date and she could play it on a TV screen which is bigger and is a nice plus. One thing is for sure, even if I'm getting the PC version I'm still connecting my PC to the living room TV *__* it'd be great connecting the PC and the PS2 version on the same TV and comparing http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif that'd be interesting http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif I know my friend is getting the PS2 version since his PC is slow so I REALLY hope they are linked http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Those are my thoughts http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif Support PSU even if you pick PC or PS2 http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif!

The lack of changing servers in FFXI is a serious deterrent. If I can't find a party, I'm stuck waiting for one, sometimes waiting an entire game session. It's stupid. At least in PSO you could change Blocks and Ships to find a game.

I understand they did that because FFXI started with a huge community. If people were allowed to move about, we'd have the equivlant of vega on ffxi, but bigger.

Actually, WoW also had a large userbase in the beginning and they haven't had any problems that I know of >_> ... baka ffxi -__-;

Didn't Wow have massive server waiting times because they didn't supply the demand? I heard from my friend that you'd be waiting like like 30-2 hours at times just to get into a server.
