View Full Version : I had an argument with my girlfriend

About whether or not brown was a color.

Funny enough, we also had an argument awhile back about what the definition of being color-blind was.

Turns out, in both these arguments, both of us were right.

Does she open all your jars for you by chance?

Do you also argue about what clouds are made of?

You all fail to see that brown is a color, but is usually referred to as a Neutral (not a color.)

And the definition of colorblindess doesn't mean you can't see colors entirely. The disease effects everyone differently. So one guy might see pink as blue, while another won't see colors at all.

Just because it's in FKL doesn't mean it's not serious.

This reminds me of the Buster color fight...

And you can't get a brown without mixing colors in paint!

Fine. I retract my previous statment the sugested your girlfriend was actually your hand, and will instead submit this boring link of a google search for "is brown a color".

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&q=%22is+brown+a+color%22&btnG=Search

As you can see, google said it is a color. I guess that answeres the question, so we don;t have anything to talk about anymore.

Isn't FKL fun TOH!?!?!

It makes me wonder, if you see pink as blue, wouldnt you just recognize anything that appears blue AS pink for your whole life and just call blue... pink?

... What if we all see colors differently but we don't even realize it? o.o

Because the Internet is serious business. Someone was going to say it so I said it first.

I did Google, and also ask.com

And I said brown was neutral because that's what I was taught in several of my art classes.

And even that link calls them neutral colors. Anything that reflects light in turn has a color. And different combinations of light result in more colors. Thus, magenta would not be a color under that it is not on the color wheel. Nor would burgandy, azul, emerald, or navy blue. I propose that the color wheel is simply a very, very low resolution way of looking at things. Afterall, you can bring the color wheel down to three colors, and yet, there exist 7 colors of light. Does that mean that the 4 colors of light are not colors at all?

If it really was, it would have been moved to Rants, or already have been originally posted in Rants.

Bottom line:

This is FKL, yo. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_mushboom.gif

Seriousness happens on accident here, maybe, sometimes.
