Indeed.

I watch a 4 episode DVD every month or two. That's way too much for me. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

TV stuff is on often, but I don't much pay attention to it if I turn it on.

BB lobby discussing Naruto/sub/dub/boringness of conversation:

"Its on Cartoon Network, that's why Naruto sounds whiney, duh!" <-lobbyist
"Uh English dubs don't necessarily ruin a series. Trigun/Cowboy Bebop are quite good." <-moi
"Well it does for me, lol" <-lobbyist
"Fluent nihongo speaker yourself? Thousands of characters to memorize, by the way." <-moi
Etc.

but I don't want to get into the whole downloading anime before anybody else can get it legitimately which makes you uber cool nerdo, subtitles/fansubs > dubs arguement, if they love it so much, why would the language its in matter? blah blah n blah. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

4 episodes a month, or two, in one sitting after popping the DVD in. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

All I can afford.

I virtually never watch anime of any kind. In fact, the last anime I think I saw was the five-minute "Little O-ren Ishii butchers a bunch of people" segment in Kill Bill Vol. 1.

I'm practically the same way. My favorite anime's Cowboy Bebop simply because it has THE best english dub ever. I do not understand japanese mannerisms and vocal inflections, so much of the characters' personalities are lost on me in a subtitled version. However, most all dub-jobs are EXTREMELY lackluster, and that makes the stuff even MORE unwatchable than if it were in japanese.

I am picky about my anime. I will watch five or six shows, a few movies, and I have those all on DVD. I watch the Back to the Future trilogy more often than any of them.

In my opinion, the anime art style itself and alone is leaps and bounds more interesting than most of what japan puts out in that style. Shows like Naruto, Fullmetal Alchemist and several others I won't bother to name are unwatchable to me, simply because of the way they set up the plots, the dialogue, the ages of the characters and the way said characters develop during the series. The sightgags and etc. in these shows are also kinda silly. I don't find typical japanese comic mischief all that funny.

It's my honest belief that this is mainly the fault of the japan/american culture clash. I'd be much more apt to watch a show created by a genius american than one by a genius japanese person simply because I'm more likely to identify with what the american artist is trying to convey.

Naruto does sound like a whiney five year old on cartoon network tho, and none of the other voice acting is good, neither. It all sounds so forced http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_confused.gif .

In consistent proportion to how often you poop, I suspect.

This is precisely the reason why companies bring series to the American market generally don't do direct translations. Making an intelligent move, they try to localize the dialog to be appropriate to the market, but unfortunately, we have a great deal of "purists" who don't quite grasp this, and would rather bury their heads in another culture than have something they're likely to understand right off.

The irony in this, is that the dubbing of a 30 second sneak-preview clip was so overwhelmingly badly received, that Viz re-dubbed the entire series; one of the biggest irritants in the original dub was the pronounciation of "Naruto", where they originally placed the accent on "uto" rather than "Nar", as most fans generally accept it.

Personally, I'm so fed up with people talking about it, that I don't care if I ever see it. It's just another Dragonball Z, as far as I'm concerned.

The only anime I watch is Naruto and Bobobo.

Bobobo is like FKL: So stupid it's funny.

When Skorp says regularly I think he means on a regular basis. Ahem

I love watching anime. But I don't own cable >.< (Yes I'm a freak XD). I read manga and watch anime, usually on DVDs and on Japanese with subtitles (most of the english voices are annoying >.<)
