why does my skyly RAcast find so many damn materials? Is that supposed to happen with all skylys?

No offense, but that may be a bit off-topic.

Anyway, I'd say that you're getting lucky. Or unlucky, if you don't want the materials. Don't all section IDs get the same Material drop rates?

Probably just luck, though it's funny that my Skyly finds more materials (HP) than my Yellowboze/Whitill. Probably just that I play Skyly more though.

I 'think' it's just luck.

My Viridia and my Oran find Material almost the same, Viridia just gets a bit more, that is probably caused by luck.

I never played Skyly so I can't say that they find more Material but I don't think so, sometimes you really find a lot of Materials in a row.

Well all my characters find their fare share of materials - however NO not all ids have the same material drop rates - some ids (and i cant remember which) actually have material drop rates(instead of a red box drop) from some monsters on some difficulty levels.

What difficulty? If it is normal then you should expect boatloads of materials. Take a look at the drop charts for normal. Lots of material drops.

If not normal, I would say luck but also area and enemies. Things like Fake in Yellow are notorious for materials. Afterall, Rappy have 100% DAR so you should expect 'more' materials than places like Caves. More than anything though, it is likely luck. So I would say, enjoy it while it lasts.
