View Full Version : Expectations

I really hope that all this talk about ideas, including everything I dream about having in this game doesn't create a disappointment to us when we get the game for real...does anyone else feel like that? maybe its just me...I can hardly stand these next 4 months...

That's exactly why you avoid discussing "what if they have this", because all it does is exactly what you're fearing... setting yourself up for disappointment.

We know the game is going to be at the very least, as good as PSO. That's as far as anyone's expectations should go, if they intend on being really happy with the game when it arrives. That's my take on it, anyways.

Yeah but it is still so interesting to talk about the possibilities...I wish though that there was some way that the game creators could hear us, only because since their will/should be updates for PSU maybe some of those updates will change online play, like the whole idea of having a psu news channel (I think that is a great idea!).

But just like you said, at the least, PSU will be just as good as PSO. And we do know for a fact that there are a lot of changes made to this game. And even if it were just an upgraded version of PSO I would still super excited.

Anyone else have an opinion on this?

I already know its going to be better than PSO. True we talk & joke about what ifs, but, Im also the first to say we need to be realistic about what may or may not come. Still & all, based on the demo Ive played & the info from various sites, I can already tell its going to be bigger than PSO.

Well, a lot of the things people wanted to see in PSO Episode II have become a reality for Phantasy Star Universe. Before we start wishing for more stuff though, we probably should just sit back and wait for the game to come out. There's other stuff out there to play in the meantime.

I agree, now vox keep in mind I've played PSO more than any game I've EVER played, (around 600 hours, not including corrupted characters and there a few of those, so I estimate around 800 hours total) ok? so as you can imagine I really want PSU to come out tomorrow but that's an impossibility. I'm not going nuts about it though, I have other things to keep my mind off of it and I'm sure you do too, I play baseball, go to the gym, play other games in the meantime and it keeps my mind off of PSU. Just don't think about it too much, if you catch yourself thinking about it change the topic in your head.

Perhaps we can do everything at once, Dream and do other things? It's not hard. What's life if you have no dreams? But keep dreaming and you'll dream your life away.

That was deep-ish...I agree though. Vox, just keep posting but keep yourself busy and in no time it'll be released and we can all have good times together playing a great game.

At one point all of us PSOW-ers will probably play together. I can't wait either.

That would be awesome if we did play together on PSU...we'll all definitly have to post names and such once the game comes out.

Of course we will, I plan on playing with many people from this website, and sometime you might be playing with other PSOW-ers and not know it XD. First thing in the morning - after I wake up and run to Gamecrazy (2 miles away) in the snow and pick up a copy for me I'll come back and post a topic for names right away so everyone can play with their favorite PSOW members (I called it!!!).

Also I know how you feel about being concerned about PSU and your expectations and all, I feel the same buddy...it sucks because if we set our expectations too high then when we get the game we might be like "WHAT THE HELL?!". Also it would be hilariously dissapointing if ST sent out all these updates but they were just messing with us and the way we think PSU will be is nothing like what it is, like it's actually a sports game instead.

Its going to be with. Youre not kickin' my ass, boy! Combining hrs of V1, V2, & GC, Ive easily put in over 1000hrs. As is, my main on GC has currently over 480hrs. This old pro doesnt get his ass handed to him that easy. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif Best to be on my side. Then, youll be ok. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Bring it, son. Megid may be useless in regular play, but, its truly lethal in the hands of a FOmarl. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif You should ask my best friend what Ive done to him in battle mode. I still joke on him about it. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Fun thoughts, but you don't know that things will be different, do you? Hmm? I could be able to dodge once the final game comes out. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif Then you'd be in trouble.

If you end up in the same position as my best friend was, trust me...theres no way to dodge the attack where it came from. Let's just say....he didnt see it coming...

Thank you. And a preemptive Happy Birthday to you too. But remember, age only does a few things:

1: Increases knowledge
2: Means Chronilogicly, you die sooner http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
3: Reactions get slower http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
4: I'll still win heh

Anyways, it'll be a good battle.

Also, in the words of R2-D2:

Hee Hee

Oh now, youre asking for it, boy. Age for me does the following:

1. Increases knowledge.
2. Gain wisdom from various life experiences.
3. Im a survivor. Ill outlive you. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif
4. My mind is too damn active for reactions to be slower.
5. You wish you'll win.

Yes, it would be a good battle. Dont expect me to go easy on you. Teachers are hard on their students with good reason.

Difficult http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I wouldn't have it any other way. Read closer, I said Chronilogicly and trust me, I too, am a surviver.

But you underestimate me for I am a master myself, even for my age.

In the words of Talim:
"I won't back down!"
And quoth Naruto:
"Believe it!"

Heh, My favorite character from Soul Calibur 2. But anyways, I'm a master in my own abilities.

When you can dodge gause rifle, let me know http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

1. OK that explains it.
2. I can dodge a rifle cause your ass will be on the floor & Ill be outta there.
3. Original topic: You thinking you could take me & me warning you that youre best to be on my side than against it.

Vox, it's very possible and likely that some of the ideas that we've thought of here on PSOW are already a part of the game and we'll probably see many of them in the game just based on the fact that almost every idea someones had here has been really good in all ways or in its some ways. So don't worry about this game not living up to your expectations, there will be plenty to be happy about when this game comes out.

OdinTyler

Rena-ko said us to get back on topic. Doesnt she know we always EXPECT to be on topic. We were speaking of EXPECTATIONS & I EXPECT that we all EXPECT certain EXPECTATIONS of the game. Given that EXPECTATION, we're all hopeful & EXPECTING PSU to be a great game. Are there any other EXPECTATIONS I should EXPECT? http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I suggest all of you heed Rena-ko's advice in the future. Just because the game has not been released yet, does not give you the opportunity to spam topics.

To anyone that has posted in the last day, be sure to check your PMs in a few minutes. Some of you will be receiving warnings.
