View Full Version : Breaking out the Classics

We all love the Classic games from way back in the day; NES, SNES, Genesis, Saturn, etc. etc.

The other day I decided to play Super Mario World on the good ol' SNES. Restarted my game and decided to reach *96 in a day.

Along the way I took a few pictures of a few moments we all might have had in our adventure:

In this picture I couldn't be hurt, at all by the enemy. I got off Yoshi, let in run into me several times and I didn't die. But I couldn't kill it either.

I'm sure we've all had this happen before...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v339/TheOneHero/Classics/OHSNAP.jpg

A litte something I found amusing when I came across it:

More moments to be relived later; if you could, post some yourself. =)

I went the Sega path, with the Megadrive:

These aren't my shots, but I lost so many hours caught up in these games:

Revenge of Shinobi

My god, I wish I hadn't got rid of my Megadrive, these games were awesome ><

Edit: Lol, bandwidth.

That game kicked so much ass. I think it was the Level 7 music that I absolutly loved when I was younger but I did wonder for awhile how it did fit into the 'Quantum Leap' TV show.

Super Mario All Stars

In my quest to unlock the 9th world of Mario Bros. 3, Mario was in for it at World 4...

OH SHI-
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v339/TheOneHero/Classics/OSHI-.jpg

Later in that same world, Mario is asked to save the king. (Honestly, why can't Toad ever step up?)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v339/TheOneHero/Classics/orly.jpg

I think the kings looks better as a monkey...

You can buy a generic one at a Radioshack for like $10 or so I think, last time I checked.

But you have to figure out which input plug you need to plug it into the SNES. Different years yielded different size connnectors. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif It does come with your choice of 3 free or something too.

Or just buy another SNES used and only use the Adaptor, like I did. My first one had a bad adaptor and I had to weigh it down in one perfect position or else. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

I wanna take a picture of my TV now and Prof_Frink's Guild Card I have on Disco Stu. Amusing, that one. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

And maybe pictures of Star Tropics or Karnov or Chakan the Forever Warrior, or Castlevania 1, FF1, Zelda 1, Mega Man 2, Kung Fu, Double Dragon 3, Crystalis, uh Actraiser, Illusion of Gaia, etc. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

Obviously.
But TOH's there aren't half bad.

Some in the PSOW item database are TV shots. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Also, we don't all have video capture cards, and hell if everybody knows how to get one, install it, and use it correctly.

I just read your computer rant. Then came immediately to this topic. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

I don't have the money for one of those spiffy video capture cards. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

If you were serious about it being hardcore, completely ignore the rest of the post. :3

If you can tell what's going on in the picture; what does it matter? http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

I'm sure we all can; I think the least amount of levels you have to beat, to beat bowser is like seven or so. (Is not 100% sure on this) http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

(And I wub Lost Levels.)

Did you check to see if it's with your Virtual Boy? I know I always leave it with the wrong system.

I, too, was recently playing through Super Mario World at my girlfriend's. But just when I got my file up to Bowser's Castle, the next time I went over it turned out one of her roommates decided to start hitting the reset and power buttons over and over again when the game didn't boot up right.

And that's the story of how I lost my file.

Stupid people not knowing how to work delicate equipment.

Oh god, frink. Get the song out of my head DX

I remember one time one of my little guys died and laid in the road for quite some time before he was actually noticed as being dead. Ah, memories.

That was part of the plot though right?

Some farmer dude died and you had to go fight monsters to avenge his honor or something. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

I like the song during the part where it zooms into the cave you are entering(to go fight monsters). Dramatic!

Furthermore:
Man, beating that first boss without getting hit was just awesome.

But alas, that game was stolen along with my many other SNES games, years ago. I have Actraiser # 2, but it isn't nearly the same. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif
