Name things, shows, people, game, etc that inspired your art or writing either by giving you inspiration to draw or write or influenced your style of art and writing.
For me, my style of drawing is heavily influenced from the Boondocks, Breath of Fire 4 artwork and Metabots. Breath of Fire 4 and Metabots aren't my all time favorite shows or games but I loved the art style so I started tracing characters and then I started drawing the characters w/o tracing and then I just used the anatomy of the characters but mad eup my own characters.
When I ran across the Boondocks comic strip I started applying more afro-centric hair styles and features(without having them potrayed as the common stereotypical black anime characters *Bubba from Dragon Ball Z being the main one) to my characters.
And thus I have my style. A blend of Metabots, Breath of Fire 4 and Boondocks.

My originated from Ranma 1/2 (Rumiko Takahashi). Then... it switched over to Yoroiden Samurai Troopers (aka Ronin Warriors)... then I began to work on my own original style still protraying to features in: KO Century Beast, Bastard!, and a quite a good amount of video game art. Of course when I was in college, I began to try to imitate the drawings of one of the girls I liked.
I think I am comfortable with my style, but I now need to get the proportions right.

A lot of things I see from other artists are things that I like and incorporate them into my own style; like always making my eyes black, drawing really dark noses(with a little highlight :>), and having my dresses always have straps and lace.
My art is, admittedly, really cliche because I find inspiration from a lot of cliched things. But that is fine, as I long as I'm happy. ;p

I like to do what I feel like doing. Also, PSO helps with some ideas. I have many characters that give me stuff to do. Also, I often post here on PSOW for ideas *sparkle*

Phillip K Dick's sci fi novels heavily inspired me. I loved his ironic approach to story telling and how so many of his characters had such deep emotions. I find it hard not to get sucke dinto his characters, and I try to emulate that as well.
Terry Pratchett also helps to an extent, his writing can be very descriptive in places, and even though my original Fan Fics were serious, I couldnt help but put in a few subtle jokes.

My all time biggest writing influence is Quentin Tarantino. The man is truly a master of dialogue, which can make or break any sort of creative venture. I also found his subtle approach to ultradark humor to be amazing, and rarely is either one missing from anything I write.

In Zealot of DF, CupOfCoffee wrote: "I... might have shot two of them and punched a third in the throat. But I'll bet at least one of them deserved it!" May shouted amusedly to Dre as she drew her katana, clearly finding the humor in the situation.
Dark humor, I couldn't tell. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Back when I was a little Ancient I was heavily influenced by the art of Joe Maduria, when he first started working on X-men. Back then the eastern style was so new and exciting. Then it seemed the intire comic idustry wanted to emmulate him so in order to still feel original I stopped trying to draw like him.
Currently I have no deffinitive style to speak of. Just a loose amalgamation of art that I like; Alphonse Mucha, George Petty, Brian Froud, and a good smattering of various comic artists. I also really enjoy the broad variety of great web comics around these days, like Girly and Waspi Square.
Anything that I right is likely to be very silly and heavely influenced by The Muppet Show, Azumanga Daioh, or just about anything done by Josh Lesnick.

Mostly self inspired, since for me its always has been a question of how I want to tell a story. I started drawing because I wanted to weave a tale with art, my thought designs rather heavily influenced by Myung-jin Lee's work in his ragnarok series, the first manga series I actually purchased before reading. But knowing next to nothing about art, I've just been focusing on improving ever since the start.
Seeing as how my pencil and paper skills were rather lacking, to say the least, I wanted to try out some of the mysteriously beautifull "CG" work I had seen here on psow and elsewhere. And thus, nowadays all my work is digital. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif
I love detail, so its come to my current realism/manga-ish style. Half the picture is the color, and the other half is the shading. Sketching an outline is just somewhat tiresome labor. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I guess it's kind of ironic, but the first anime pic I ever remember doing was the HUmar on the cover of the GC PSO box.

Hmm, I get inspiration from a lot of things..
PSO, obviously.
Neon Genesis Evangelion- slowly teaching me how to draw graceful movement, and giant mechs.
The work of H.R Giger. This is why a lot of my work is done in black marker/fineliner, and is incredibly sketchy. I love the dark atmosphere Giger can create, and the scientific element appeals to me too. For those who don't know, he was the guy who designed the Alien from the first 'Alien' movie.
Music- I mainly listen to industrial metal music, and rock. Obviously, lots of dark lyrics, which conjure up images. I usually draw such images in frantic 5 minute sketches (usually in lectures at uni- earphone in one ear, drawing, with glances at what we're doing in lecture http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif )
There are a lot more influences, but those are my major ones.
