I will make further renditions of said creature, and I will make it more complex every time.

Why? Because its good for you~

Go now!

Grey has captured the essence of not capturing anything with his colorization. I cry tears of artsy joy.

Paint is being retarted; every time I pick a color, it's always some shade of gray. ;-;

I couldn't find a way to fix it (too lazy http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif ) so I cut and copied the image, opened paint again, pasted, and viola! It worked.

Ya know those sources are right.

Bloody .gifs, if you're deadset on the first one, download the image and save it as a .bmp, then color away.

anyways,

Heres the next one. (http://freespaces.com/bodyofsoul/cue22.bmp)

Not complicated enough? No, not yet. Just need the little guy to grow up a bit more. That and I'm terrible at drawing any animal besides humans, http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Are we supposed to go with the same color scheme we used before?

Sagasu
Nov 11, 2005, 05:20 PM
No, not really no.

that would be rather lame.

There. Took a while. I took it to GIMP, resized it, traced it, redid all the colors, and then shrank it back down and saved it as a PNG. Looks waaay better. :3

Woah, nearly forgot. Another .gif, so if you intend to use paint, download, and save as a .bmp before you start to color.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v106/Sarunakai/Cue3.gif

Basically theres some slight design foreshadowing in the previous creatures, but the changes made will be radical ones. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Tips for coloring: The fill tool often wont do you much good, unless you fiddle with the opacity levels. Paint doesnt have that option, so its best not to rely on it too much.

Next time I do one of these, I will sure as hell NOT start off the with the Fill tool. It's more trouble than it's worth. >_>;

I really like how this turned out.

Helpful tip of the day (for PS users):

Save picture.
Copy background layer.
Create new channel.
Paste picture into new channel.
Click "Load channel as selection".
Select inverse.
Create new layer.
Fill selection with black.

Voila, instant lineart you can add color under on a separate layer.
Or you could just use multiply mode, but that's lame, y'know.

Why, I'll multiply you, ya hooligan!!

Battle of the layer blending modes: my soft light could beat up your multiply. Fatality, wot?
