Remember when Homer was telemarketing, offering a "lifetime of happiness for just one dollar"?

Mr. Burns said:
"I think I'll be happier with the dollar."

So don't pay the newsletter collection agency, read the fine print next time, and hang up the phone.

If you haven't signed anything that said you would pay, then you don't have to right?

There's no paperwork saying that you agreed to pay?

The only things in paper that are free (and actually worth a damn) are probably used car booklets and apartments for rent at every local supermarket.

They should have told you upfront it cost money to subscribe. If they didn't, you're not at fault and be more careful next time.

Wait a God damned minute here. It's free but it demands 25$ donation?

In essence, it costs 25$.

Or you could "donate" more than $25, I guess...

Then again, I probably could buy a $10 purchase with a $50 bill and tell them to keep the change. Fleh.

There is no such thing as "free lunch".

Perhaps they think that the magazine is worth more than 25$. But what happens is that they got those magazines for free as a donation from the various magazine companies, and they offer the same magazine to people for a donation so they can have cash for whatever cause they are promoting.

For example if you go to a walk and run marathon for breast cancer... sure they give out free shirts and refreshments BUT there is a 20 or more minimum donation to PARTICIPATE IN THE CAUSE. This is how they MAKE money.

So ask yourself, where were you at when you signed up for free magazines?

Once, in elementary school; I joined some Star Wars Club through those book-order things. Said it was free.

Recieved a bunch of stuff, it was pretty cool.

I was later informed I had to start paying a fee if I wanted to continue getting stuff; also said I had to send everything back if I didn't pay.

Didn't pay, kept everything anyways. They said it was free and I intended to keep it that way. :3

This would be a time where you'll learn what to trust in the future. And enjoy your one page pamphlet!

Religion can be a business at times. :/

Tell your mom to pay for you, you don't want to waste money on this.

Your mom shouldn't steal your money from you.

Hide it or something.

Sooo, you didnt know exactly what it is... but you signed up for it anyways because of the word "free"? Oh hey I have "free" stuff to give out, all I need is your:
Name:
Address:
Telephone Number:
Social Security Number:
PIN Number:

Upon sigining up for free stuff you will make a small donation of $100.00 dollars annually that will be automatically garnished from your savings account. There will also be a $50.00 cancellation fee, a $25.00 just for the hell of it fee as well

All of this could be avoided if you actually find out what the heck your getting into BEFORE you sign anything... ever.
