I understand that this poll was already taken. But there are a lot of new people to this forum so if it is ok I would like to know again...

I don't have a modem on my ps2 (shameful yes). however, I don't belive I can wait for the PC version to come out. This is a truly depressing choice.

PS2 simply because I want to have a physical controller in my hands. I wanted so badly to play FFXI on PS2 but it was WAY too expensive.

PC, primarily because I don't have a PS2.

PC, but if they pull some crazy stunt releasing it on PS2 first by more than say, a month, I'll buy it for that. Yes, buy 2 copies so I can play for a month.

PC because like Kupi I don't have a PS2.
That and I'm hoping I can tweak the graphics and controls on the PC version to my liking. (Full Screen Anti Aliasing is my crack!)

Definitely PS2. Im a video gamer first. I just feel more comfortable using different controllers when I play. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif That & my PC isnt great for games. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif Couldnt play it on here even if I wanted to.

PC, for a couple reasons...

No connectivity with my PS2.
I like my PC better, when playing games (Xbox 360 controller > PS2 controller).
PC doesn't have disc read errors...
And I don't happen to live at the same location as my PS2. :/

PS2.

PSO was something I liked to relax on the sofa with infront of the TV and play for hours. I want the same experience with PSU, it would be very different playing sat infront of monitor.

PS2 for a few reason.

1. My PC is junk for games.
2. I don't need anything but an ethernet cable and Broadband because I have the newest PS2.
3. I like to have a controller in my hand like someone else said.
4. I like my PS2...a lot.

I could play on PC at my dads house, and probably will because his computer has no problem with having 100+ people in the same room, I tested that this weekend with Warcraft. In the place called Ironforge or whatever there is like 100+ players chilling out, trading, auctioning and stuff...his computer didn't lag at all, sweet eh?

I like games on consoles better than on the computer...

PC, definately.

- My PS2's dying on me, and I have no plans of buying a PS3.
- I'm not paying for another PS2.
- I've just upgraded my PC (to play BB well, but I guess it can be for PSU instead)
- I have a PS2->USB controller converter anyway, so I may still be able to use that.
- If there's a window mode, it'll allow me to do other things (IM, Music, etc)
- PS2 isn't in my room.
- I need more PC games http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

PC because I don't like load times, or the lack of anti-alias or anisotropic filtering. Plus, since I have played with my computer acting as my television and thus find it strange to play games on a large television. Oh, and my chair is far more comfortable than the couch.

I'll be grabbing PSU on the PC. I need another reason to use it for gaming. Load times will be faster, and can't ignore high-res visuals. Hopefully the mouse/keyboard controls will work acceptably, but I have a nice Logitech dual-analog controller to fall back on as well, so I'm covered.

I will play the PS2 version just to stay true to console platform PSO. I also don't feel like buying a new controller for my computer.

Well hey there are a lot of great guys on this forum, :hint: Rion and Odin :hint:, so lets all just pray that the two systems can play together or else I fear that I may have to buy an adapter and keyboard and play the PS2 version.

Thanks Vox. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif You forgot a few other ppl, like PhruitBaskit & EspioKaos. Theyre good guys too, tho as of recent, been absent. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif I do hope I see you & others from PSOW on the PS2 version as we're still unsure if there will be linked servers or not. I too am gonna need a new PS2 & tho I cant afford that expense, its not gonna stop me from being able to play PSU. Its just something Im gonna have to do at some point.

Yeah, someone already took this poll, and I think it was me http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif But I agree...If we want noobs to vote, ya have to make a new thread. Stupid bumps!

Thanks Odin, you're not such a bad guy yourself http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif Sorry I've been out lately. School's been kicking my ass lately. I think my PS2 is finally going out on me too. Lately it's been having a little trouble reading discs http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif Oh well. The new ones are nice, plus they've got the modem adapter built in. I seriously want linked servers...Bad. They'll help out with the game and to let people on different systems play together.

I'm going with the PS2. Looks like all my reasons have been given by other people already. Mainly cuz I'm a console player:
-Ya can't relax on the couch with a keyboard
-New big screen
-More friends on PS2 if the serevers aren't linked
-And every one else's reasons for going PS2...I share most of those reasons too http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Im beginning to think it would be really nice if the servers were linked. However, Im not holding my breath for it. That & theres not even a VAGUE release date for the PC. Maybe the devs are reading the forums & will surprise us with a simultaneous PS2/PC release? Shocking thought! http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

shocking thought? how about an amazing thought! I would just die if we could all play together. And honestly I would die if they had been reading forums and getting ideas....esp ours.

We might find out more on Friday.

The weekly website updates are usually based on what is in Famitsu that week, so the product section should get an update this week with the release date. It lists PS2 & PC together at the moment, so there's still a chance they will have a single release date.

My problem is.... My brother and I really want to play together (not like PSO GC where we shared an HL)
But we have one capable computer and one capable PS2... Technically, we have 3 PS2s, but only one with a broadband hookup, and only one tv close enough to our router....
So if PS2 and PC can't play together, that means we need to buy a brand new tv, or somehow manage to get an ethernet cable downstairs.... or buy a brand new computer.... And neither option sounds to appealing to the broke gamer that I am.

PC because ps2 online dose has it issues like on REO1&2 didnt make a good cut as an RE online game plus I have a 56 kbs at college thats reall good. Just a bit of updates and im ready!

Hay, new question. Will PS2 platers be able to play with PC version players like they tried other online games?? (seems unlikely)

I've been in need of upgrading my computer for along time now, so when the time comes for an actual release date, I'll probably upgrade my computer's Motherboard and CPU a few months before hand. And probably RAM if needed.

PS2. I'm a console gamer. I got enough crap from my laptop from playing PSO BB ("PSOBB has encountered a problem and needs to close" happened numerous times -_- Stupid errors like that make me steer clear of PC games usually) And my TV screen is bigger than my computer screen http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

*Damon's good and bad con. are fighting over if he should play PSU on PC or on his brother's PS2*

good: He should play PS2 sence his gf has that system.
Bad: lissen though, she played pso when her xbf game him that game. it dosnt mean she would like to play psu.
Good:But it is worth the shot sence she has a Ps2.
Bad: but she probly quit to avoid her xbf-
Damon: what do you think this is politics?
both: sort of...*damon blew them away with his specal, Omega grants* ARGH!
Damon: and dont come back! (I tend to RP sometime to put issues in a funny simulation)

PSOBB wasn't supposed to run AT ALL on laptops (it's written in the installation notice) and I don't expect PSU to be any different.

I'll play on PC, but I will definetely upgrade the RAM. And the space.

Well, you could've held your breath cuz now we have confirmation of linked servers between PS2 and PC. That link will be very nice http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Ps2
- my comp could handle it but not as well as a Ps2 could
- more comfortable to play on a couch and bed
- I dont trust computers, ps2 might have disc read errors but PC's have a gazillion things that can go wrong *cough* virus *cough*
- i prefer platforming
- i have all the requiremnts for my PS2 already

Hmmm I would think PC would be better because I wouldn't have to worry about my PS2 dying on me; I play alot it and it might burn out like my Gamecube did. Just buy the USB for the controller for PS2.

PC always, I don't use my PS2 for anything but FF games, and that may soon come to an end once FF13 comes out on PS3 after 12 is on PS2.

PS2 for all the same reasons everyone else stated. My PC sucks for games, I like my PS2 better, controllers are a lot more comfortable than a keyboard/mouse, and I chill out on my reclinable chair and play, so on and so forth.

going PS2 on this one. overall i trust my PS2 a bit more than my computer which isn't the best for gaming, but it works for most everything i need it to. not only that but i've used the PS2 online before and have myself a keyboard for it so it would just be easier in my mind to go that path. i'm just glad that the servers are the same (or should be) no matter what you use, as i suspect most of my friends would probably prefer to play it on their PC

Hmm PC for me for a few reasons... mainly that i dont have a PS2, the last console i bought was the Cube and before that my two Dremcasts. Though depending on how control will be handled on the PC version, i maybe tempted to get a PS2 controler for my PC, just to make life easy.

I think its a good idea. With the variety of controls out there (both PC & standard game controllers), preference for console/system really should defer to which youre able to or feel more comfortable playing. Theres all types of controllers now that can be used with your PC. If you find a good PS2-type controller for your PC go for it. Seeing as how linked servers ARE happening, youll get the controls you 'want' with the system youre able to play on.

Say, how is the controler set up going to be on the PS2 anyways? witch buton dose what or is it like the orignal PSO?

Going from memory of the game footage I've seen...

Square - Normal attack

Triangle - Photon Art

R1 - Hold down to access your second weapon (If dual weilding) and while holding press square or triangle.

Circle - Pull up your prearranged list of weapons and dual weild combos

X - Dunno, someone mentioned one button not doing anything when they played the demo so this could be it.

I think those are all I've seen from footage but those who played the demo could probably tell you for sure.

Chances are I'll be getting the PC version. Because as like a few others here, I don't have my own PS2. That, and I have all the reqs for it on my PC. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

I'm going for the PC version. After dealing with the PS2's faulty DVD drive (fat model) I gave up on it, took the controller and hooked it upto my PC. Hopefully we'll be seeing a custom control in the options because I don't think I'll be using the Triangle/Square setup as I'm used to PSO's X/Square setup (Square for normal attacks, X for power attacks.) http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I bought a controler for PSO, will use it for PSU.
