I have imported many PSO games, but how is the importing process for this game looking? I hear rumors there is no english setting? Is there evidence of that? Also, I was wondering If there is any US release date speculation?? I would wait for US but not if it is like 4 months later than JPN and it most likely will get pushed back.

Thanks

I may import, it all depends. We don't know if there is an english setting or not, so thats one of the things I'm waiting to hear about. We also have no idea about the english release date yet. We still don't even have confirmation that the US and JPN servers are even going to be linked together (However, we do know that simple chat will be in the game so that leads one to believe that the servers will in fact be linked).

I'm probably going to wait for some more info before making my choice.

Not that it's at all anything to go by, or even at all accurate, but the Software Etc, semi-near me has PSU slated as a May (both PS2 and PC) release. At least that's what I think it was... But honestly, if at all possible I'd like to import the JP PC version...

I find importing to be too much of a hassle. I'm just going to wait for the release of the English version. It's a lot more fun (to me) to play games in a language you can understand. And with PSU, I don't want to miss a single bit http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Agreed. Until there comes a time when I can download info into myself (The Matrix), Ill stick with the language Im actually able to converse in.

(The Matrix was a kick ass movie!) Yeah, it's much funner to play games in languages that you can understand. For example, English...Or Spanish http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Anyways, we'll just wait for the non-JP version. Agreed. *converses in English*

I read your post and I saw the part about an English setting...But if there was one, then why are there seperate release dates between JP and English? (I know about 'staggered releases' so don't answer it by that.) Anyways, I saw the part about English and I don't think that there will be one. Not to say that it wouldn't be nice http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

It's not anything that I wouldn't say in English http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif So...

God, not this again. A lot of people on here have been playing Japanese versions of PSO in complete English since December 2000, it's not unreasonable to expect/hope that PSU is the same. Especially as we have already seen PSU running in English. This suggests the translation work is already done and the ingame text atleast is multi-lingual like PSO's in the past.

Games have released later in the West since the year dot. Sega Of America and Sega Of Europe decide their own release schedules. There's also various other reasons from fixing any bugs between the Japanese and US releases, to avoiding strain on the servers if there's international play, to having to master a new build with the English audio track which there might not be room for. They might not have even recorded the English voice tracks yet, in which case there could be a big delay. We know however that the text is translated.

As with previous PSO's, until we get the Japanese version in our hands we won't know if we can play it in English or not. But considering this is a hardcore PSO site, it's not really surprising that people on here would like to play the game as soon as possible. Especially when they have been burned in the past by Sega taking ridiculous amounts of time to release a game that was already translated in the West. Mocking people who want to import (or who leave out a 'p' for that matter) doesn't really have a place on a PSO fansite.

I'm in the UK, there's no way in hell I'm waiting for Sega Of Europe to release the game sometime in the "Summer of 2006" as they currently have it listed. So fingers crossed for English!

Uh, we didnt miss anything. I know I didnt. PSO had multi-language support. THERE HAS BEEN NO CONFIRMATION that its also in PSU. I understand that various regions dont want to wait til its released in their respective country. Im in the US & I hate waiting til after Japan gets their versions. Its always been that way & tho I dont agree with it, I try to be patient. With the fact that we dont know if the language can be altered & couple that with the fact that ppl are having a problem even setting up accts & paying for the JP version & online status in advance...Im NOT touching the Japanese version.
