This guy is by far one of the dumbest people I've ever met...he thinks that Anime is satanic, that ALL of it is basically pornography, his research is awful, he only really looked at hentai and not shows like Trigun, Fullmetal Alchemist, Inuyasha, etc...

He thinks that japan is like evil for making this stuff too...he's a sad excuse for a journalist/writer.

Unfortunately thanks to the influence of Liberal elements in our once-great education system these individuals choose to turn away from the products our cultures produces and embrace alien ideas that are an affront to God and our Founding Fathers.

There you go, religious, patriotic zealot.

Question answered.

He's is saying that sci-fi and fantasy is evil which is completely stupid and messed up. If he honestly believes in that shit, and he thinks fantasy = filth he should go kill himself. Fantasy is thought, god cannot hate you for thought, fantasy is getting away from reality, if fantasy is wrong then so is reality because it's a lot more harsh and sinful than fantasy usually is. That guy is just a christian extremist, he's completely wrong by lack of research and if japan wanted to take america out it would get together with germany, soviet union, etc and attack, they wouldn't sit around and try to make us have a downfall with animation...

Ugh.

Everything posted on that site is SATIRE. Adequacy.org was made by some of the idiotic trolls from Slashdot.org. All of it starts out sounding semi-reasonable, then it descends into outrageous bullshit. I mean, use your brains, people. Would an actual Christian journalist take images from hentai and shop Jesus/Mary over the naughty bits?

For more info, read here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adequacy.org).

The people who run Adequacy.org enjoy nothing more than the thought of people posting one of their pages and carefully analyzing it, pointing out all the logical failings, and taking great pleasure in mentioning how stupid the person writing the article in question is. In other words, they're wasting your time. :3

EDIT: Link fixed.

Anyway, I had no idea about that http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif Religious fanatics always seem to be investigating something or another >_>, such as the 'Death Metal Murders' post I did a few weeks back.

Edit: There, read it. Thanks for posting that, I was clueless about that http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

No problem. Make sure to spread that Wikipedia link around, I don't want those Slashdot.org trolls getting any pleasure by wasting your time. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Each sees something with their own eyes, and each can see totally different things. As far as I'm concerned, if that guy is serious, then it's only his frustration speaking.

I've had my share of those who see Satan everywhere, instead of considering everything as His creation, not as His caotic plan which went out of control.

what kind of grown adult watches cartoons?

Not worth my attention from this point on. Yet, on another post, another genious made this brilliant remark:

I had never sinned in my life, until i saw the images of the shameful cartoon teens on this site.

Congratulations. If only you were there when He said something about "Throw the first stone."

How do you know the right path? By making mistakes. A lot of them, so that you don't do them again.

What's this? Is life some sort of contest to see who pleases God best, by abiding by a set of rules established by the square-mindedness of a religious international group aiming for twisted visions of the Bible?

How many of those devouted Christians know the meaning of "leaving judgement to God alone"? Instead of rating everybody by your standards? Maybe I am judging you too. But at least I'm giving you a chance for you to get rid of all that trash which detains the evolution of your spirituality.

For God's sake, just shut up and live YOUR life. Something which I can't do, apparently.

That didn't start out even semi-reasonable. As soon as I saw that he was opening up his article with a reference to the atomic bombs dropped in WWII - I knew something was up. Another paragraph in (which is all the farther I've read up to this point) and I headed back here to see people's reactions... because I knew it was all just bullshit made up for a cheap laugh.

However, as a form of foreshadowing - I can easily see a "Jack Thompson-like" figure in the media eventually denouncing Anime's influence on American youth and claiming that adult content is being targeted to children by using cartoons. Expecially in instances like where 4Kids edits up (butchers, according to some) a few animes to make them kid-safe - meanwhile the parents might buy their kid the DVD from a store with the original content in-place and un-edited. As anime continues to grow in popularity in the states and elsewhere, expect to see more controversy over it in the future.

As for using the virgin mary to cover up the "naughty-bits" in a hentai screen... heh, I wasn't phased. Expecially not now after just watching a miraculous bleeding statue of Mary shoot a stream of blood out of her ass into Pope Benedict's face on South Park.

Japan wouldn't DREAM of attacking the United States. Not a chance in hell, and even then - it'd be in the far distant future. Japan and America's economies are rather tightly intertwined in trade agreements - not to mention Japanese owned corperations which are based or operate in America. Not to mention that they don't have an Army... so they NEED us for protection against China or other Asian powers should the need arise. In exchange, we're allowed to station our military (expecially the Navy) in Japan so that we can influence our control over Asia.

In short, Japan is somewhat similar to our Israel in the Pacific.

You might breath a sigh of relief knowing that it is satire. I'd like to have you know that this article isn't far from the truth from what a lot of people thinks about the current "trend" of anime. My parents included. I was not allowed to watch anime as a kid, and now that I still do, they think I am retarded and is in need of some serious "fixing up".

Not too funny when it's too close to home. :<

Yes, they are still using the drafted constitution created after World War 2. There is no need for Japan to want to attack the United States in the near future.

The government in Japan has little authority to create any military force besides a standard minimum to protect its own self, and futhermore Japanese military personnel are in place such as Iraq in non-combat occupations.

However, I have read about Japan's Prime Minister wanting to ask the government for more military powers, the first amendment ever to the constitution drafted over 50 years ago.

A majority of US troops, mainly marines, stationed on the island of Okinawa, Japan are being moved to a less crowded area of the island. Also more troops are getting taken out of the area as a whole.

But this is all in vain regardless because the original poster wanted to make an example of what would he thought these countries would have done instead of what the article writer posted in the phishing attempt.

But hey, the more you know, and lets try to get facts out there, not assumptions- especially concerning serious topics like possible war.
-

In regards to the original thing going on here that has been covered well enough.

If you don't think its bad for you, go ahead and watch it. Its a matter of preference. You don't need to get mad at people who write about it being wrong(to them).

If people are going to tell you its wrong, tell them to go to hell and something they like is wrong.

Family isn't always right, and you don't have to like them either.

But hey, easier said than done, and you might not want to stoop to their level or use their way of thinking against them.

But as Daikirin said up there:

Live your own life.

I'd like to add to that though:

Live your own life, and don't kill anybody!

Is 'satire' the word of the month now?

The article is fake, for those who don't see 'satire' used often. It was created just to get reactions, nothing more.

how about "attentionwhoring", since its hardly working as satire because noone can handle satire nowadays.
everyone is just gullibly accepting it as some guy's opinion and doesnt think any further about it - or for the same reason adapts to it without thinking about it beforehand.

anyway *shrugs* who cares what someone wrote on the internet.

I don't care: There ARE people who are serious about that point of view.

God, I hate those people who are religious nutcases... thinking that they have never sinned... they probably did something bad as a child but can't "remember". It's true, you learn from your mistakes, and isn't that why you can have your sins confessed to the church and forgiven?? It was made that way because people are not perfect. And there's no right way to get yourself up there, but you do your best as yourself.

Offtopic: Did anyone ever see that episode of Trading Spouses with that fat crazy religious lady? God, she's blind to the world...

^ I loved that lady! Some awesome guy made a bobblehead of her with voice clips from the show and sold it on eBay. I would've tried to get it if the bids hadn't gone so high.

Hm, I suppose the article in question wasn't really satire, nor did it start out semi-reasonable. Still, the article I posted to mentioned this very article, saying that the person who wrote it did to enrage anime fans.

Eh. As much as I think anime is shitty and unoriginal, it's certainly not "evil". Whoever said that must have a pineapple grenade up his ass.
