Just wanted to say that tonight, I celebrated my Emergency Medical Technician course in our graduation ceremony. State final aside, I'll be a full fledged EMT. That aside, Ive been told Im a healer of sorts both IRL & game-side. This being said, I offer my services as support & healer online in PSU. My main being of FOmarl roots, Ive become quite accostomed to healing others, tending to wounds, much as I have been & will be doing IRL in my career.
Upon our entry online, should anyone need a healer/support char, I volunteer to aid in any way I can. True, Ill be working on my hunter skills for her, but, I wont be neglecting her healing abilities. Should you wish to count me among your party of 6, rest assured Ill do my best to keep you alive. As for wanting medical advice IRL, that save for a PM to me, if you wish.

Congrats, Odin!

When we're playing together online, I'll be right there helping you out with some extra technic support. Well, as much as a beast can do with techs, at least. XD

Thanks Espio. I appreciate the sentiment concerning IRL & online. Yeah, in main mode Ill be doing alot of functions: hunter/healer/support. Basically, bouncing back & forth between the frontlines & checking out our backsides. When Im using my beast tho, its all about power & finesse. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif Im curious if anyone will make a 'Native Motavian' type one with me. Either my beast will have brethren or he'll be a lone warrior in the stars above. Either way, good to know the beast population wont be too small. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

If we're talking about IRL, Id have to hook you up to our favorite happy drug: OXYGEN! http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif If anticipation has got you that excited, you might need to be monitored.

Thanks guys. Good to know some ppl know what my job is. Some actually dont know what an EMT is. I explain of course, then, they understand. Yes, Ill do my best to keep ppl alive & what not, both in game & IRL. This is especially true for real as theres no reset button in life. All you can do is your best, given the knowledge acquired. As for PSU, Im definitely looking foward to grouping with you all (you too, Dre, I havent forgotten), I just ask that you bring healing items too. I dont wanna just use magic to heal. I wanna cause some devastation too. Warranted, I believe, after all Ill be spending time healing, sometimes Ill have to let loose some of the stress.

Dec 13, 2005, 12:11 AM
Bring items? No problem! I don't trust you that much anyways! http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif [/sarcasm]

Just for that, Im gonna make sure you get an extra special present. Its a little purple ball. Maybe youve heard of it? (evil smile) Oh & you gotta have your back turned to receive it. That way its fun for me...I mean you. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif (I really mean ME tho http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif ).

I've said ot before, but...Congradulations! http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Now it's official, an EMT. Saving lives online, offline (Hyuga LOL), and IRL. That's cool. When we play online, trust me, I'll need a little help staying alive http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif Go Odin!

much congrats 2 ya. now u are a walking scape doll, but ur good for more than 1 use.

Odin= rank: BU-EMT (S-rank)

1. Yes, if need be, Ill be the healer for casts everywhere (including you, Phruit). http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

2. Interesting in-game rank I was given. Technically, Im an EMT-B (Basic). Pretty much the next lvl up would be EMT-P (Paramedic). Ive heard some of what they do. Cool, but, WAAAY more studying. Idk if I will yet, but, the idea of fitting ppl for tubes could be (evil smile) interesting. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

3. Yes, Im the scape doll with many uses. That, or you could just call it Operation: Reverser. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

I wonder if casts will still have the self-
regeneration trait they had before. Perhaps using their newly-acquired MST to possibly gain HP faster? That would be great. To balance, you gotta give newmans faster TP regen then. On my human main, Ill require a constant supply of fluids to keep us all going. Medics need their supplies afterall. Its not just about the know-how. Gotta have the stuff to back it up.

Dec 14, 2005, 01:11 AM
yes... but there is no TP. Its only in the weapons now.

Anyway I'd love to have you on board when the hunt begins.

heh, congrats Odin. its good to know there's still people out there who'll play the medic (online and irl) XP online i'm only good for one thing: beating monsters into goo, wouldn't do anything else for the life of me. its just no fun http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif but without the healer we'd all be goners. so i salute you Odin, congrats again and good luck http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Seems I have many comrades-in-arms awaiting PSU's launch. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif Im happy for that. If anyone's looking for an official guild/team to join, I run one called Moon's Cry. Id be happy to have any of you join up with us. If not, its ok. We can still group together, I just think having official teams can still be a good thing. Moon's Cry is from PSO (small, but, a good group) & Ive run guilds in other games before. All entrants will be welcome. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
I will heal online, just make sure Im able to slaughter some monsters myself. I intend to improve my lil samurai's swordsmanship as well. When on my beast tho, Ill be a one man wrecking crew! http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif I forgot about there being 'no' TP, but, there still are fluids that drop. They probably refill the PP of the weps (as discussed before).

Dec 14, 2005, 11:43 AM
yeah, i'm really pondering how the new (TP?) system will work with the weapons. i've got my ideas but not hoping for anything as i haven't heard yet exactly how it works. and on the guild: it sounds like a nice prospect, i usually work as the lone-wolf a lot (as in not joining guilds often) but teaming up would definitely be cool and who knows, i may change my mind to join. its happened before. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif thanks for the offer

OdinTyler
Dec 15, 2005, 09:29 AM
No problem. Id be happy to have you join up in the guild, or at least a teammate. I can understand the whole 'lone wolf' concept. Sometimes, you just wanna play solo. Believe me, I know. Either way, its good to have reliable teammates. If you wanted, you could be a scout or 1 of the ppl up front, giving that crazy dmg alongside us. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Even be a walking shield for the 'less fortunate'. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

sure odin, teaming up with good players is always fun. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif and on that note, those 2 things are all i exist to do in PS, deal damage and tank http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif especially the first, thats the fun part XD

OK, well Dre, send me a PM confirming you joining up with us. I need to keep track of current members. As for those considering membership, it would help if you joined up sooner rather than later. This way we can discuss strategies before we get on. However, no pressure. If you want to wait til we're actually there, I understand. Just keep in touch. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

For now, Ill keep our numbers known only within (aka PM & emails only). Lets just say that we're welcome to anyone joining & have certain ppl considering in the works (Death is included in that) & you gotta love & respect the medics as theyre the ones who keep ya going. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif As for IRL, yep, just thinking about how its gonna be one day when I might be saving some real lives.

Yep. Good ppl online AND IRL. Thats what makes a good guild. Well, ppl here know I intend to be an EMT. Any aspirations for anyone else career wise? Be it IRL or what class you tend to go with on PSU? Sometimes our hobbies & our lives go hand in hand.

Well, IRL I really don't know what I'll do after high school. I'd like do go into an automotive career cuz I have some experience with drivetrain and body work. Restoring a car right now and pulled out and rebuilt several engines (with a little help LOL). But yeah, that's kind of what I'd like to do...I don't really know what I'll do though...Anyways...Anyone else? http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I plan to be a Geologist so I would love to make basic maps of the average layout of an area, saying that they will be randomly generated http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif (I love that thought) And I will also attempt to compile as much information about enemies and areas as I can, for I like data. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Odin, I'm a total PSO n00b (I've been playing in toto only over a month.

But as far as MMO's - I've had more than a few years' experience, and in ALL my days, I've always considered Healers to be the most honorable job. In FFXI, I was a white mage; in iRO, I was a priest, etc.

Therefore, not only congradulations at your becoming an EMT, but also my utmost regards for having the strength to sacrifice yourself for the benefit of others! It always comes back to repay you.

As far as I'm concerned, I plan to get PSU as soon as it comes out, and I've filled out one of those Japanese Sega-Link thangs (whatever good that does me o.O). So, as far as getting people to join your guild when PSU is out, I'd like to be considered, but at the same time, I DO have a friend of mine who might want to start a guild to.

Were I to be a part of it, however, I'm also teh healer type, and I'm sure that just one or two is not too many!

(I'm a computer engineering and music major) ^_^

Oh no, a n00b! Run for the hills! LOL Well, welcome to PS. What do you think of it? Whats IRO? You mentioned that. Funny you mention healers being an 'honorable' job. A few teachers at my graduation said the very same thing about being an EMT/medic. Thanks for the congrats. It was alot of hard work & will continue to be in the coming days. Theres more preparation to do & I just gotta do it. So youre a double major, focusing in 2 different fields. Any particular preference or will it be a blend of the 2?
As for you joining my guild, Id be glad to have you with us. If you dont join, its ok. We can still group up somehow right? Should you join, other healers are always more than welcome.

Xanthias64
Dec 20, 2005, 10:14 PM
Heh. Thanks for sparing me.

IRO stands for (international?) Ragnarok Online - by Gravity Inc. It's sort of a 2D-made-3D online RPG anime style. Fairly fun, but it got old after a while. PSO has yet to get old for me though. Also, it helps to have a couple people I actuallly know IRL to play with. I guess I'm jsut a social-gamer, rather than a loner, and maybe that's what makes me the Healer type?
Knowing that someone else needs me in order to fulfill the gaming need as well as I need them to (or less so when EXP is actually generated by HITTING mobs: grr.) gain levels?

Anyways, yeah... I am not exactly sure why I am persuing the music degree. It sure as hell is pretty fun though, and that's why I didn't want to lose it during college. I thoroughly enjoy computers/building then etc. as well as the benefits that come from knowing how they work (i.e., using my super Thermaltake Xaser III enclosed beast to perform for me while gaming >D)

OdinTyler
Dec 20, 2005, 11:22 PM
Well, focusing in those 2 areas, I figured you might be doing something along the lines of using media for music? Mixing? Editing? That sort of thing. My brother once wanted to do so. He might still, not sure. Our family kinda has music in the blood, so, I can definitely relate to your love for it.
As for healers being social types, thats not always so. Depending on what game (& class) you play, sometimes you get ostracized. Druids for example, in EQOA were shunned as being inferior healers to the clerics & shamans. Keep in mind, Ive played just about every class in EQOA (including all 3 healer types). The trick was finding more open minded ppl, then, socializing with them. After that, it was great.
Healers, like any other char class are important. Every class in any game has something they can bring to the field, aiding comrades in battle. Theres not so many subclasses in PSO/PSU as in other games & in a way that makes it easier. You get more flexibility to take on more than 1 role without having to sacrifice too much. Dont get me wrong, I still love my DnD, but, its good to play a game not always so cut & dry at times. When I want space fantasy, Phantasy Star is the way to go for me.

It was my EMT license & certification! I PASSED! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif On the back it showed how I did on each of the sections of the tests & my overall score. I did pretty damn good btw. Except that Masako cant be haunted by a spirit...she IS one. Confused? Read up on our forum & youll see what I mean. Interesting death idea you had tho. Idk how it would work in game, but, interesting nonetheless. It would seem that I could still be a medic to ya, since you NEED me & all. LOL Just remember, as long as youve got my back, Ill make sure I can always bring you back (to life that is).
