Computer error code question help please!

Im working on a customers computer and when i went to ping the comp it recieved this message

Unable to intiilize windows sockets interface, error code 0. any idea on how to solve this issue?

Thats a pretty common problem with the winsock. It also happens every once in a while after running spyware programs. I actually have a fix uploaded to some webspace which you can find here: WinsockXPFix (http://psofiles3.home.bresnan.net/WinsockXPFix.exe)

This is a Win XP machine right? If not let me know and I'll have you do something else.

Thanks violet that hit the spot just right.
saved me alot of trouble http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif didnt have to reference this stupid book or go throgh the hassle of locating the solution using the company diagnostics software.
