Just bought this a week ago, really gotten into it (free play is so appealing >_> ). Anyway, the last Guild Wars topic was a few months back, so I figured I'd re-post here.

Does anyone fancy a game on it sometime? I'm currently a Level 12 Necromancer/Mesmer called Lilith Bloodfall, if anyone wants to add me (just let me know you're from PSOW, preferably a username too http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif )

Just bear in mind I'm English, so the times I can get on won't be convienent for some people.

So, anyone play? http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Gotta try and STAY with this game, instead of drifting between MMO's >_>

Of course you're playing it. I'm the one that dragged you into the game http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Infact, I wouldn't mind a game or two with other PSOW-ers

If you ever see SOLSTIS or TOLDOS running around... not me... my roomate. He stole my name. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

I don't play, but he does pretty much everyday (though probably won't be during the break).

One of my friend's friends quit and I got ahold of his account, and started playing...

Yeah, it's okay for a little while, but it's just gotten excessively shallow and boring. :/ I guess you get what you pay for.

I guess that could be true to some degree. However, keep in mind that there are plans for a new chapter sometime in the future (Which is why they have all of these create-a-*blank* contests http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif )

Infact, found the info on the support page...

As you may know, Guild Wars does not have a subscription fee of any kind. Players may choose to support future development of the game and expand their own playing experiences by purchasing new chapters of the Guild Wars story. These chapters will be offered about every six to nine months, and will be competitively priced. Unlike most "expansion packs," the new chapters will be approximately equal in size to the initial chapter of Guild Wars.

After you own Guild Wars, you are not required to purchase the new chapters in order to continue to play. Those who do support the game with the purchase of the chapters will, of course, have the opportunity to continue their personal story. They will be able to experience new professions, skills, items, missions, monsters, and quests. But players who do not purchase the chapters will still be able to play Guild Wars, and will have the opportunity to play with their friends who did purchase the other chapters in some areas of the game.

Meh, I played FFXI, after a week or two it bored the hell out of me. Far too slow paced in my opinion (same for Lineage II...)

Anyway, I have University projects to do, but when I'm not working, I'll probably be on Guild Wars, so feel free to randomly talk to me http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Like all Final Fantasies, FFXI was intended to start off a little slow. If you can get good parties around level 10 (which is a longshot, I know...), then things will start to pick up, from there on out. It really kinda varies depending on what jobs people are playing, and your job, too... Nobody wants a Dark Knight. :/

Guild Wars is good in just about every way. There's really only one problem with the game and that occurs when both A) You've hit level 20. And B) You're tired of PVP.

There's really just nothing else to do afterward. If you haven't finished the story, you could do that if you really cared to, but most people don't bother, lol.

Luckily Chapter 2 is coming out soon to give some new skills, new quests, and other things to occupy your time.

The game's great, though, besides not having anything to do long term in it..

How long does it take to hit level 20? I'm thinking of perhaps buying Guild Wars, since my new computer that I'm getting for Christmas will be able to run it most easily.

Depends on how addicted you get to the game http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Overall, it also depends on how many of the quests you take part in and how much fighting you do. A lot of the quests give at least 500 experience (one of them in Lion's Arch gives 4000, IIRC).

Yeah, there's a 4000EXP quest in Lion's Arch, and 5000-10,000EXP quests in Fissure of Woe http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Needless to say, you need to be Lv20 to survive the latter >_>

Thing is, even when you hit Lv20, the EXP bar still fills up, and you get skill points instead of a level up.

As stated earlier, depends on how addicted you are to the game.

Quests provide really decent exp, plus the killing you do during them helps too. Missions provide 1,000 exp and another 1,000 exp for the bonus.

For my first level 20, it only took me about a week. Was level 1 on May 21st then level 20 on the 30th.

Like they all said, it all depends on how addicted, or commited, you are. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif I have 3 lv 20's right now.

I know for Hallowe'en there was the Mad King, but I'm curious what will happen on Christmas Eve, if anything =D

Blue-Hawk, I'll look you up sometime, I'm only Lv14 at the moment though ><

This is just one of the many decorations that is available on Guild Wars for Christmas. Others include giant presents, Christmas lights lined up around the town, Snowmen, and Christmas Trees.
