I really hope this isn't like episodes 1-4 where, if you turn of the system, you must start the levels over. What do you think will be on this new game?

PS:Sorry if this has been posted before.... I'm lazy.

...Are you kidding me? It most likely WILL be like that again. They can't make it so they count every enemy you kill and that enemy is gone until you beat the game. Expect it to be the same as before, it makes more sense. If you get to caves 3 and then you quit, then when you turn it back on you have to start at caves 1 again, if you mean that then it would be better to be able to start off at caves 3 again when you continue to play again, I doubt that'll happen too, it's not impossible, just not probable.

Wait what are you talking about?

Are you saying that your worried that when you turn the system off at night, turn it back on during the day that you find everything in game has "respawned" everything again? Or is it that your worried that when you turn your system off that everythings gone and you have to start all over from scratch?

If its the first, don't worry. As long as you have a memory card, everything should be fine. With most RPG's in this day and age, if you kill a monster in town and go back to where you killed it, it'll spawn back or mayby randomise itself. If you kill a boss however (Single player) it'll stay down permantly.

If its the latter, you either have one seriously faulty memory card/hard-drive or you don't have a memory card (if you can't save.) However with every PSO game to date, every enemy and boss "respawns" because you would need to gain levels in order to progress to the next area/difficulty without having to much trouble.

PSU will most likely respawn all enemies except bosses as you progress further into the Single Player game. Multiplayer however will most likely take on PSO's roll where everything will respawn again and again. Persides whats the chance that the little bugga's arn't breeding anyways? http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

What Id like to see (as an upgrade to PSO), is that say an area has 2 or 3 lvls. If you clear the whole area, you should be able to access all 3 lvls right away. Therefore, not having to start over from the beginning (unless you wanted to). Since chars are saved server side, when you pass a certain area, your char should be flagged as having passed it. This way if you were to disconnect, the server would remember youve gone through it already. Idk if this will happen but it would be nice.

Since this is a true MMORPG I'm fairly sure thy might try something like FF11 or WOW. Where you can save and quit at anytime, but if you stop in the middle of a monster infested cave. Don't expect your character to be alive when you get back on again.

I know that when it comes to MMORPG's, if you were in an area and you Quit and Save'd you'd be taken back to the last town you were in.

In a way I do agree that you should be able to access any area after you complete it. However I disagree with this concept to such a degree.

In the first PSO for DC, you wern't allowed to access any other difficulty or area offline unless you completed it. Unfortunly in online mode not only was it possible for others (including myself) to access every area a player had accessed but any difficulty aswell without level restrictions.

PSOBB however got rid of these problems, also forcing users to complete the government quests in order to proceed further into the game (and driving everyone nuts while at it which p**sed allot of us off.)

Hopefully we'll see the "level/area restriction" system implemented. I don't want to see players going to the very end of the game just to do mass level gaining. Would really ruin the appeal of PSU as I want to see players put some effort into this. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Guys, PSU isnt a 'true' RPG in the sense of FFXI or WoW in that there is no 'persistant' world. From what we know, its still going to be just like PSO just a hell of a lot bigger. Of course, we would need ST to clear up that fact (wish they would already). If it stays as PSO did, Im pretty sure that when you save & reload, youll be back on the GC. Completely unrealistic, I know, but entirely possible (for purposes of the game anyway).

Woah woah woah... did you just say PSU isn't a 'true' RPG? I think you obviously been mistakened. PSO is not a 'true' RPG, PSU is.

An RPG is short for "Role Playing Game" which requires you to act out the "role" of a character. Your then set out on an adventure, battling monsters, talking with NPC's and even making new friends.

However there is one major problem..

An RPG must contain a storyline.

PSU contains a storyline. You play as Ethen, his sister gets trapped by a rockslide accident and you must rescue her. Later on you interact and befriend other characters along the way in order to stop an evil force known as SEED.

PSO does not contain a true storyline. You make a character, your then sent on a mission to search for what happened to Pioneer-1. The NPC's do not truely help in you invesitegation but are mostly stuck on Pioneer-2.

Because PSO does not contain a true storyline, it cannot be called a true RPG. The way the game plays in real-time action and that you roam around from place to place is called an Action-Adventure. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

The infomation we so far have does not state anything about a story for PSU's online counterpart. Even if it does not, its offline counterpart contains a story and can therefore be called a true Action-RPG. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Id like that 2 bcuz that wuz so friggin' irritating and not 2 mention annoying even tho that wuz a opportunity 2 get more exp going tho it again. Hopefully they do like this cuz that would B hell of a lot easier. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

I think odintyler meant MMORPG because of his mention of a persistant world.

Although, what I'm wondering is since the offline game is completely different than before and more like a real RPG, will there be save points (in the offline game, no I'm not suggesting save points in the online game)? I doubt we'll have to sign off to save offline.... right?

TY Brus. OMG I cant believe I wrote that PS isnt an RPG! LOL I could kick my own ass! Yes, I meant its not a true MMORPG cause of there not being a persistent world. Its been said here that PSO & now, PSU are ORPGs. Glad my mistake was pointed out. Wow, was that bad! LOL

Yes & today started out a good one. Demon Stone is a pretty good RPG & a good hold out til I get a new game. However, I beat it & need something else to keep me held over til PSU. I mean Ill still work on DS. Its crazy how many enemies atk you at once there. If PSU has areas like that, its gonna be sick!
