Jeux-France (http://www.jeux-france.com/news13805_phantasy-star-universe-image.html) posted two new scans from Famitsu. You'll have to forgive me; I don't have time to translate much right now as I have to get at least a few hours of sleep before I head back to work in the morning. But, from what I've glanced over, the article mentions some event sequences, including one where Karen seems to black out, recalling the day when her mother was mauled by wild animals right before her eyes. (Note the picture of a very young Karen, wide-eyed with terror.) Other points of interest include the Communion of Graal, Youmei Corporation and weapons maker, clothing shops, and various places around Neudaiz. From the looks of it, a number of the enemies you'll fight on Neudaiz will be robotic, as the Communion uses guard machinery for protection. One such robot name that I can see well enough to translate is Baisha Type 32 ver.B. Or something like that. Also, a new boss is identified. It's called Onma Gohg. (Or Onma Goug, or however they'll translate it.) This flying creature is known for using electric technics among its many attacks.

Seems from the image centre right on the first page that they may be sticking with the 10-star system for item rarity, and the Meseta field seems to be kana.

That boss seems a little...Resident Evil.

Cheers for the scans!

See the two thumbnails on that page? If you click on the left thumbnail, there will be a panel with Karen on it. You can see a ghostly-young Karen there.

The Resident Evil-type boss appears on the second page.

The Resident Evil-type boss is the white-impish thing at the bottom of the second page. We've seen it before in previous videos and screenshots.

Oh ok. I see it now. I thought those 2 pics were the same 1 image. I can see how ppl would think the boss looks RE like. The arms, for example. But, it has bat wings. Im trying to think what it reminds me of. Maybe something from DRC? I never really cared for that series but...how many...oh yeah, something out of later MK games (Dragon King) or Killer Instinct. Some big gargoyle looking boss. Thats where its familiar. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif No prob. Ill kick its ass like any other creature. Im pumped after just beating Demon Stone this morning. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Yet another kick ass looking boss for PSU http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif And is that a picture of a weapons shop in that first scan? I see Ethan at a counter with some mulit-colored bows in the background. Freakin' sweet! Again, can't wait to hear some translations. There's got to be something new in there...And thx for the scans, Espio. Very nice! http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

If you mean the fat, white faced, sharp toothed, FF looking creature, then, I didnt see that there, but Ive seen it elsewhere. I was talking about that gargoyle looking thing. Oh well. Any idea what fat boy is called? http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

My guess is the gargoyle-looking creature on the bottom left is a chieftan or whatever they call those larger, stronger versions of regular creatures [mini-boss?]. The big baddy on the right also reminds me of Contra or Castlevania, for some reason. Hm...i wonder if someone from Nintendo's design team joined ST...

Heh heh. I didn't notice that before. I really liked the 10 star system that was in PSO. It looked nice and I thought that it was a great system for item rarity. That'll be a nice thing to have back. Very cool...

Now for some translations.

It seems that Karen's blackout/flashback sequence is triggered simply by going to the location where her mother was killed. The article says that when the party arrives at the Mizuraki Wildlife Preserve on Neudaiz, they spot a group of Tengohg, some native creatures of the planet, which triggers the event. This makes it seem like these are the creatures that attacked and killed Karen's mother.

The next page shows off the inside of the Neudaiz branch of the Guardians. It also mentions the huge following Mirei has as the Maiden of the Communion of Graal. (Many people actually started a fan club in her honor.)

Moving on to Onma Gohg, the article says that Onma is the most powerful form of the Gohg, a common native creature to Neudaiz. It has a number of powerful attacks such as electric techs, like I mentioned before, and a breath attack. (It doesn't say if it's fire breath or whatever, but generally whenever I've seen an attack referred to as "breath," it implies fire breath like what the Lunga and De Ragan use.)

Well that's too bad about Karen's mom. Poor Karen, and when she was just a cute little kid. Sad! http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif ::starts crying:: Anyways, Mirei has her own fan club, huh? That's pretty cool, I guess. And Onma Gohg is just a hella powerful version of those Gohg things...Makes sense. The big boss in the area is just a highly evolved form of some common gargolye-type monster. And that proves Niki's guess to be correct. Onma Gohg is a stronger, larger version of regular creatures http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Not bad, Espio. Thx again for the translations http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Contra and Castlevania are Konami games, not nintendo >_>...

But you know, thinking on it, a partnerup like that wouldn't suprise me. I mean, Nintendo teamed up with Capcom to make some of their Zelda games, probably their most successfull franchise already... Sega could very well have some support from another party of some sort.

Hm, that is a good point, and they do seem to have plenty of bodies working on this project right now.

The only Nintendo-Sega collaboration I want to see is Smash Bros: Nintendo V Sega, in which all the classic franchise characters from both companies battle it out. The action shoiuld be a little more technical and damage based, but keep the ring-out focus as well.

The only problem being, that Sega has far more popular franchize characters than Nintendo has since they don't stick so adamantly to established franchises - but often branch out with new series and new games.

(Though F-Zero GX was a pleasant surprise partnership)

As for the scans, from the translation Espiko provided, it sounds almost like new "boss" is more of a mini-boss like what Gi-Gue was to Gees. I wonder if they're included in the overall "boss" count - or can we expect a ton of mini-bosses in addition to over 15 major bosses?
