Wow. SonicTeam seems to be getting to the updates much earlier than usual. I prefer it that way, though.

All of the info here seems to be the same stuff that's been in recent magazine scans. The monsters section goes over three bosses: De Ragan, Gol Dolba, and Onma Gohg. The nanoblast and SUV-weapons sections don't seem to have anything new as far as info, but I don't have time to translate right now to be completely sure as I have to leave for work in a few minutes. Once I get home from work tonight, however, I'll look over the descriptions and share my translations.

Cool, they added a "monster" section and updated the Nanoblast/SUV-Weapon sections. It looks like the text for the updated sections was changed.

Could someone extract the images and provide translations for the three sections? I'll start working on a front page update and update/create the appropriate guides.

EDIT: Did anyone notice Leo standing beside the transformed beast in one of the pictures in the Nanoblast section?

So the weapons colors will be customizable?

Under teh dragon pics, it showed ethan holding 2 green bladed swords, but their shafts were different. One was red, the other was green. Maybe it has to do with the strength of the weapon?

http://psofiles.home.bresnan.net/d.jpg
My guess is the photon blade's colors will be the element, and the paint color of the shaft will be its quality/strength. A slight bit different then pso.

And there seems to be another "rare/special" sword, under that batlike section. Its green with a blue like orb in the hilt.

Why oh why do we have to know that the game is already done. It makes it 100x more unbearable that they're teasing us with a bunch of screenshots when you know they're giggling their little heads off in their offices, laughing at our torment.

I'm gonna like this!

I agree with (err... forgot the name) about the color of the shaft being the element.

This game just keeps getting better! I can't wait till this thing comes out!

Nice pics. A few points about them tho:

1) That is the dragon I fought in the demo. Very cool fight. Great to see in game. Dont forget to try to protect Mr. Wuss.

2) The 2h sword comes in handy when youre fighting multiple enemies. Bear in mind that its slower than it was in PSO, however it does pay off for effectiveness.

3. Dont underestimate Ethan's staff. Its great for a boss fight. I used Gifoie to chain spell on the dragon & used Resta when need be.

4. Given other images on PSOW, Im sure the photon colors will change based on the element. If they match the designs on Ethan's jacket, it will pretty much mimic PSO in that we get green to start with (nothing) & work our way to different colors & elements. The demo starts with Ethan & crew at Lv15. Clearly, theyve had some time to upgrade their gear a bit.

I must say, I can't wait. It's nice that they're getting updates out regularly and ... earlier now.

Oh heres a good tip (& you heard it from OdinTyler first):

When fighting the dragon, go near (but not directly AT his head). Aim Gifoie to hit his neck (& possibly his head). Youll hit multiple targets. I know this may sound obvious, but, it REALLY helps.

Remember my words for when the game comes out...

Flabbergasting pics!

And the whole idea about the photon blade color representing the elements makes perfect sense, that's most likely how they went about it (and would explain why most characters had blue photons in the TGS gameplay footage while fighting the Do Ragon, since it's weak to the ice element).

OdinTyler
Dec 29, 2005, 06:21 PM
The thing tho, there were no elemental attacks on the weapons except for the staff. Youd think ice would be a good idea (& I agree, it is). However, for what I played, there was no ice attribute. I hope that it was fixed so that when you come up to that part in offline mode, youll be able to have ice attacks ready.

TY for the pics, Violet. Theyre gonna go in my PS folder now. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Given thats Leo's size when he Nanoblasts, imagine if someone made a beast at maximum size, pre-Nano? That would be insane! LOL

One second Odin, you say there are no elemental attacks? Then what is the Partistan doing in the special weapon attacks (or what ever) here on PSOW? Twirling around just for looks? It looks like a wind attack to me!

Woah http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif
Nice pictures of the nanoblasting, and bosses.

I also think that the colors of the shafts have to be the element. Realting to elements, the new earth one is gonna be cool. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif I wanna see like a volcano.

Oh By the way, There has to be elemnts on the normal weapons besides tech ones. I mean, pso had it(elemental specials...but still it was it technically), and I dont think it would change that much.

That is just a Photon Arts attack. Photon Arts are different from what OdinTyler is talking about.

Those images will work VioletSkye. Thank you for extracting them. Now it just a matter of translating some of the information.

Anyways, as some of the previous posters mentioned, it looks like Onma Gohg's wing was damaged in a couple of those pictures. I'm guessing you will have to attack the wings in the First Person Shooter mode to eliminate them. That will ground him. You will then have to attack him with conventional attacks.

Yes, I was going on a theory based on the photon shield technology. The various colors on Ethan's bars on his shoulder pads have various elements (green being none). I figure that the weapons have the same. If your weps are green, chances are theyre not elementally charged. However, they could still have a special ability like XP steal or what not.

Oh & Dre, in the words of Usagi Yojimbo's Master:
"I know--what I mean."

DE RAGAN

A native creature of Parum known as the "Ruler of the Grasslands." Extremely ferocious by nature, the De Ragan normally lives in the highlands. It has been confirmed, however, that as a result of the chaos caused by SEED, many De Ragans have been descending to the lowland areas.

With its firey breath as well as fireballs it can launch from its mouth, the De Ragan strikes fear in the creatures it attacks.

GOL DOLBA

An inhabitant of Parum. The Gol Dolba is an edible creature whose meat is used in a number of dishes and recipes. Known as the "attraction of Parum," it is a much larger version of the native Koltoba. Gol Dolbas are raised on farms where they can grow to be as large as 5m.

Not the most intelligent of creatures, the Gol Dolba takes extreme pride in its fire breath and head-on ramming attacks.

ONMA GOHG

A creature that is the most powerful member of the "Gohg" genus, the Onma Gohg lives along the outskirts of the Mizuraki Preserve on Neudaiz.

I'll look over the nanoblast and SUV-weapons sections later. I need sleep... -_- zzz

Well, since some of those creatures are 'edible', lets just round up a bunch of beasts (since they get REAL big when they Nano) & have them eat the enemies, clearing a path for us? http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Yeah I wouldn't reccomend using Gifoie on the Dragon. When I played against the Dragon at E3 I used the swords 6 hit combo.

You can think of Photon Arts as being a weapon specialty or move. A move that attacks numerous nearby targets might be useful against De Ragan. The bullet photon arts might be useful against Onma Gohg while he is flying around.

OdinTyler
Dec 30, 2005, 11:28 PM
Gifoie obviously wouldnt be the best choice against the Dragon. However, it did do some dmg. If youre desperate & thats all you gotta use, use it. Its the only atk spell I had access to during the demo, figured Id try it.

Here's my translation of the nanoblast section. (Forgot to post it before I left for work earlier today.)

Beasts possess an ability called "nanoblast" which allows them to temporarily transform their bodies in order to better deal with situations such as accidents and severe environmental changes. This ability physically changes a beast's body into a more animalistic form. Triggered by continually taking damage from enemies, a nanoblast can be performed once a set amount of damage is received. After the transformation has taken place, a phenomonal power is unleashed, the effects of which include unparalleled attack power, defensive capabilities, and speed.

The transformed appearance of a beast is incredibly feral. Their style of fighting becomes more wild, for example, beating down enemies with a rapid succession of punches. Be careful not to use this ability in an area where there are no enemies! It is essential to draw out every last bit of use you can get from the attack as you will return to your normal self after a set period of time has lapsed.

EDIT: Just corrected one mistake I made in my translation.

Damn, so as a Beast, almost all the stats get pumped during Nanoblast. i wonder what the 'set value' is for damage taken while feral.

Thanks to Kannon, Tek, VoiletSkye, and EspioKaos.

Ack. Had to make one correction. (See my edit above.) It turns out that I translated that one bit incorrectly. There isn't a set amount of damage you'll take in your feral state, but rather it was a beast's nanoblast is triggered by taking a set amount of damage from enemies. Sorry for the confusion. ^_^;

Anyway, I've also finished my SUV-weapons translation.

By performing a super long-range nanotrance, special equipment from satellites can be temporarily utilized making it possible to perform some very powerful special attacks. Only casts are capable of using this skill; other races are incapable of such actions.

The SUV-weapons system can be activated after receiving a set amount of damage. Several different types of SUV-weapons are in existence. Among them are weapons such as Gatling guns and enormous lasers.

---

So, both nanoblasts and SUV-weapons are charged just like a MAG's photon blast in PSO. Nifty.

Also, I'd like to note the awkwardness the whole satellite nanotrance thing has caused me with translating that section. Ever since it was first added to the site, I haven't been able to come up with a decent translation for it, I guess until now. I think it's mostly because it didn't sound right to me that SUV-weapons were stored on satellites in orbit around the planets or at least in the upper atmosphere. But, in retrospect, we're talking about technology that compresses large objects to be stored in small places as well as photon-branded clothing that deflects damage, so it shouldn't have sounded to strange to me. XD

1. It figures that beasts would have to take dmg to charge up for their Nanoblast. It makes perfect sense & just goes to show, if anything, theyre a melee race (not that they couldnt be other things). I was wondering how it would come about.

2. SUV I was right about. I figured that it would be something along the lines of what you said. Espio, you did go into further detail on that & thats good. Really helps. It makes you wonder tho. Do you pre-select the SUV you want to call forth? Is it random? Is it based on MST that the higher the MST the more selections you can choose from or do you just get upgrades?

EspioKaos
Dec 31, 2005, 02:48 AM
I get the feeling that your choice of SUV-weapons increases each time you reach a certain level marker. For example, maybe as you start out at level 1, you've got only one simple SUV-weapon to use. As you level up, that one gains more power, and then when you reach, oh, let's say level 5, you aquire a new weapon. And so forth. As for your selection, perhaps you're given a selection process like with photon blasts, where you can assign certain weapons to certain keys, and those options only appear when you're completely charged.

Another note about the 2h sword, Don't use the lockon feature. You'll hit more enemies that way.

OdinTyler
Dec 31, 2005, 10:21 AM
1. Given if what you say is true, Espio, ppl will tend to pick the 3 most powerful SUV. Id think pick a variety of weaponry that way youd cover any aspect needed.

2. Jon, thats true. However, the whole point of the 2h sword is to take out multiple enemies at once. If the lockon comes up during that, its really going to interfere with its purpose. I hope that doesnt happen too much. LOL

The Race-Specialties guide has been updated with EspioKaos's translations. Also, I replaced some of the pictures in it.

I wonder if SUV-Weapons will be a "one-shot" type special or if you'll be able to use it for a little while.

OdinTyler
Dec 31, 2005, 01:51 PM
Im pretty sure SUV would be a one HUGE shot deal, whereas Nanoblasting will be a momentary duration: a calming down period during the rage it took to build up for the transformation.
