A little over 4 months ago now a blizzard rep just so happened to be in my place of employment,I held a pretty decent conversation with him about the game and there future plans for the series.
Anyway i asked him about one the the things that had been troubling me, and that was the shipping of there game packages the game had been out for over a year. And regardless of how many EBgames, Gamestop's, Toy's R 'Us, Kay Bee Toy's etc..etc.. that i went to i never managed to find one single WoW box displaying the Horde artwork on the cover.
The reasoning behind this according to the blizzard Rep,that was part of there overall marketing :strategy they decided that it would be more productive, and interesting if they shipped all nothing but Alliance faced software to the west coast and all Horde faced software to the east coast. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_nono.gif And he also went as far as to mention that eventually they plan on releasing limited edition bundles, on each coast displaying the opposite art work of the original packaging. I personally stay in Los Angeles C.A and it appears that this is true my question is has anyone seen both packages in one store http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_confused.gif i have a friend who work's for EBgames, he say's that one Horde faced game has hit his store but was purchased almost instantaniously http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_nono.gif can someone on the east coast verify that they only have Horde faced games.

Thery did something like that all the time.

For StarCraft, they released 3 covers at first. One with Terrans, one with Zerg, and one with Protosss. Couple months later, the game only had had Protoss on the cover. (also interesting note, the first shipment copies of the game were rated M. the secend shpments were rated T).

For Warcraft III, they had 4 different versions of the box. Orc, Undead, Humans, and Night Elves. Aftwards, only orcs can be found.

When WoW first came out, they had both Horde and Alliance covers. I haven't seen a horde cover for a while, but they did exist. Probably were for a short run.
