I've never been much of a clan person... and I don't really see the point in them on games like PSO/PSU. FFXI, perhaps, due to the fact that you can't do really anything after lvl 30 without damned near a full alliance... but I get the impression that PSU will still be very solo-friendly, so I'll just end up jumping from game to game like I always do.

The name "clan" is so uncivilized... "Guild" sounds so much better, or even "Team" which is apparently the official name for such groups in Phantasy Star (considering that's what they called it in PSOBB).

Anyway, if I join one it'll either be PSOW's own Team, or have my own Team like I always tended to have in past PSO games (mostly my friends and so on).

1. So Espil & Sinue are loner types. OK, I can understand that. Keep in mind that in offline mode, you wont be alone. Helpful or hindrance, your team members will be there & youll have to protect em. But, thats like any other RPG.

2. I use the words clan, guild, group, & team interchangeably based on who is around. Clan I use in the historical sense when there was honor connected to such a word. One particular clan in our modern day I hold no honor to & I dont think I need to specify which one that is. However, ours is about the good & fun things about being online in a group within a community.

3. Niki, your team is noted. However, being a beast I hope you & I can still group up. That goes for anyone who still wants to group up for whatever adventures.

4. The Banana Cannon is something Z came up with a long time ago. I told him if its possible to really customize weps, name & all, that he should create it for PSU. I doubt it will shoot bananas, but, maybe a yellow shot wep or a yellow element like Thunder/Lightning.

I don't like clans. :/ Been betrayed by the bigwigs too many times.

That doesn't mean I won't associate with them, or take part in their activities if I can, I just refuse to "officially" join one, unless I know pretty much everyone in there, and they're willing to let me have a ranking a little higher than "zergling."

I have no problems working within a team structure. I simply don't like the idea of being in any-way tied down to a certain group of people, or be affiliated with any group which may project an image that I don't wish to be associated with myself.

Since PSU is most likely going to be very solo-friendly, having set groups of people isn't as big a deal as it was with the static parties of FFXI. You can simply join up with whoever you meet at the time reguardless of race, job affiliation, and (for the most part) level and simply play to have fun. Additionally, since you can be more self-reliant.. you don't have to worry about having a "clan" to recruit help from. That's just the way I prefer to do things.

Odin mentioned this before (in another thread), but I am not a fan of cheaters, and don't want to be paired up with any. So don't join if you plan to try cheating in PSU.

LOL Thanks, DM & yes thats true. We're running a cheat-free organization here. If ppl find out secrets or tips thats one thing. Only something thats not going to actually interfere with the game or cause probs for the online community. We dont want any part of that. In my opinion, Team members and non-members should not be mutually exclusive. For me, the Team is sort of a reflection in the game world. i have a circle of friends here; i should have people i can trust and talk to in PSU as well. Not that it will be easy with people who are 10000 miles away...but that's only until the US release.

And, i would never refuse a Beast in need. ^_^

One of the points of my clan/guild/team/whatever you want to call it is to dispel some of the negativity around such words. Nothing wrong with having some organization & there are benefits to having a collection of ppl that want to associate with each other. Ranks arent about superiority, but, do help with some type of organizational order. They also will reflect duties within such as what ppl will work on what tasks or will they be shared by more than one person. Im glad ST decided to up the team count to 6 because theyre really trying to emphasize the idea of teamwork & how a good team not only makes sense, but, really helps the game be more fun & not humdrum endless leveling.
We each will have something to bring to the table. Not just here but in game itself. How we choose to go about this is of course up to each of us. I for one plan to make it a positive experience. But then, I love RPGs. Mind you, even if I intend on doing my own Team or join PSOW's team doesn't stop me from playing with you and your team, Odin. ^_^
Since you intend on making a cheat free Team/Organization/etc, it's all fine for me and I fully support that.

I intend on making my main character be a Cast Male and play it a bit like my PSO RAcast; both melee and range oriented.

I have definitive plans for a Human Female and a Newman Male as well.
Depending on the ammount of character creation slots, I may also create a Beast Male and a Cast Female, plus whatever else that comes to mind.

My others will depend greatly on how well I can adapt myself to the new "technique" system, but ignoring that, the Newman Male may end up being a Melee/Technique (or Range/Technique) and the Human Female will be the opposite (Melee if the other is Range or Range if the other is Melee + Technique).

Of course, a bank character will also be present, depending on the size of the storage our characters are given (but most likely a bank character will be a necessity, since in PSO it was no diferent). ^_^

Yep. I understand. My FOmarl main will return & now be a HUmarl/FOmarl blend. Gonna try to see how that works. Ill also have a beast warrior type. My bank char will be a newman so I can say Ill have one in PSU. I think Ill hold off on making others for now, but, Im really wanting to try out SUV so Im sure an android (probably ranger) will come about sooner or later.

1) Game isnt out yet, so no there will probbally be a fairly small but large amount.(If you understood that... You need some sleep...)

Since youre so wanting me to answer, here goes:

1. Ive found its not 1 of the 1st questions you should ask a group youre considering joining. Some may take it as rude that a certain number is 'required' for a group to be 'good.'

2. Theres no one set meaning & really, why would ppl not in the guild know why? Kinda takes away from the mysterious aura. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

3. Why would you join? Well, theres lots of reasons. However, joining is purely an individual's decision. A person wants to join us or they dont. We can give reasons why youd want to, but, as Ive said, theres more than one reason & that can only come from the person in consideration.

Clan business is kept within the clan. As for generally speaking, we have a forum where we can discuss ideas freely. Our website is also a work in progress that will, of course, be more detailed when PSU is released.

Judging by what I've heard while looking around, there are only like two major clans.

One I thinbk is his, and theres another one out there someone that he wont mention for whatever reason.

We don't need you in our clan if you're just going to be an ass. Moon's Cry isn't about getting a massive quantity of players in our clan. We are just trying to get together a group of cool people together to play with on PSU. If you don't want to be apart of that then that is fine, however you don't need to be a total asshat about it.

Phish, if Z said you were being an ass...you were, plain & simple. You act as if you 'need' to know how many members are in a guild before you decide if theyre 'worthy of your presence' then quickly change your mind about joining, just because youre not being told what you want to hear. That being the case, no matter where you may go, its about the quality of the people in a guild that make it good, not how many. When ppl join up with me & see we're a good bunch of guys, they stay. Why? The people speak for themselves. Quantities will come, thats not a problem.
When someone is so quick to harshly judge a group & unable to decide which way to go, switching often between apathy & ridicule, I cant really see you being serious about joining up with anyone. True, you could go off & solo, boring as that can be. However, you could join up with a team as PSU seems to stress teamwork more than PSO did. You cant callously view a group you know nothing about & expect to get far in PSU or really, an online game for that matter. What you do with this info is up to you.

Khaos, if you are joining, you gotta PM me. As for what Z & I were referring to, there was someone on here that was being outright rude. He couldnt understand why our reasons were what they were for information about our guild & it was taken a step further. If someone is going to judge a group without knowing anything about it, thats not someone we want to group with. Period.
