View Full Version : How much did importing cost you?
I'm thiking about importing EARLY october.. after Im way into Animal Crossing. I have about 200 bucks left to blow on games for sept-oct...
So I was wondering what it would all cost assuming I will use the GCN boot disk..
My guess..
Game + Modem bundle = 80?
Keeboard = 65?
GCN boot disk = 20
Shipping = 20
---------
Total = 185...
Anyone else?
:shakes head:
Awe, Cube... I thought you were stronger than this...

117 for the game and modem, 12 bucks for the gamebit
That sounds really expensive...
for me omg
keyboard = 65 + 30 overnight shipping = 95
PSO EP 1 and 2 + modem = 95 + 24 1-3 shipping from hongkong = 119
total = 214
oh and if you are using the boot disk it wont work with the jp modem, unless you were already planning on getting the us modem.
it has been confirmed though that the jp modem works on a us gamecube if the cube is modified, because skyhawk has a us cube and the jp modem works on it.

It's a special screwdriver so that you can open up your gamecube and mod it.

Why would you import in October when the game comes out domestically in October? It is way to expensive and will take your blod pressure up 100.
Not to mention that StarFox Adventures is coming out on the 23 of Sept. and Time Splitters 2 is coming out Oct. 16.
I'd much rather spend my money and get 3 games instead of one, only earlier.

Lol seriously Cube, if you were planning on importing in october....why not just wait?
Ive decided to wait, just stick it out and wait 1 month.

Cube- After all I've experienced so far, I'd seriously advise you to wait until the domestic US release. There isn't anything stupendously new that makes PSO on GC a must import if you've already played the Dreamcast iterations to death.

*raises middle fingers to importing*
Methinks someone should just stick it out. Ain't that far a wait... hell, I still gotta buy a GC... http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

Grr thanks for bringing those games up Spy.. >_<
But the reason I was thinking about importing was because who knows when Sonic Team will delay the game to again..
And If I were to import i'd import early oct. the game doesnt come out till early nov....
Eh. Nonetheless, I apreciate all of your comments, yet still im undecided.

I paid 88.50 UK pounds for the game, modem and D-Direct stickers, artwork and cards.
That equals roughly 137.00 US dollars. I own a modded Japanese Cube, which cost me the equivalent of 386.00 US dollars.

I'm still undecisive.
My estimations for the following:
_US GC
_PSO
_Keyboard
_BBA
_Mem card 251
_component cable
_EMS air freight
_custom tax (20%)
amounts to over $500 ...

No problem.

They cant afford to push it back forever. Besides, a month is cutting it a little close for a delay announcement. Of course, if ST does push PSO back, I will eat my hat.

October 29.

Uh... Don't import!

well you are worried about the usa release think about the eu release 2 years later wtf.
i would import but i would first have to sale my house.
in the UK they like to milk the average punter for every penny they still havent got any PSOGC in stock and it been out for ages now they say they had to put the price up because it is so much demand.
when you know they just want to put the price up becasue of the demand.
also we have no boot disk because datel wont get off there ass and release it,
i rang them they say the person who test it is on holiday.
so i had to look for a MOD GC well blow me if the importers have also put the price of them up too.
here in the UK we get shafted more than a prostitute on a saturday night.

I'm importing but am pissed about the fact that that damn freeloader geeks put up that add that it's on sale, accepted pre-orders, and the CD wasn't even done. Teh hell, dumb slackers. Now i can't cancell it because it was a registered money order, that means i send a damn signed check for a certain price including the freeloader. Now i gotta wait an indefinate ammount of time untill they take the money.
I would mod it myself but that damn Gamebit is what i'm missing, how else would you unscrew the gc? i rather smash it open...
Or send it to NCSX, but i gotta get through the hassle of sending 50 million emails for directions and buy mail insurance, who knows what will happen.
So if i send it in, it'll cost me...
...250 bucks, includint the kewboard which i will obviously not dish out for 60 bucks.
Make that 190.
Meh still expensive, but i DO have the jack to buy TS2 and Star fox, so...
And besides, those 2 games combined don't offer the time i will spend with PSO. Remember, pso offers close to 500 hours of gameplay, if not more. I never seen an offline game offer that <Spy
Hmm....why am i importing? well of course to play 500 hours before you all!!!
/meruns
kthxbai
Hmm...
Maybe I wont import....
However, If the game does get delayed... Why i oughta *shakes fist*

$103.12 No keyboard. Game + Modem.
I heard you can unscrew the gamecube by melting one of those 6 sided bic pens in the screw, wait for it to harden, and then unscrew. Haven't tried it myself, so no gaurantees.
