- Shortly after Sega released Phantasy Star Online Episode 1 & 2 for GameCube, it has been discovered that players have already started cheating in the game. Apparently there is a bug in the game to allow players to receive infinite amount of money, duplicate weapon and equipment. Sonic Team has already received hundred of complains from players concerning the problems.
- Sega announced there have sold over 54,000 copies for their GameCube version of Phantasy Star Online Episode 1 & 2 in Japan. However, over 65% of the users bought the game alone without the GameCube Modem, they are waiting for the release of the GameCube Broadband Adapter in October.
