In contrast, when he's impressed with someone, he'll help them out. A year or two ago, one of the contestants was really quite good, and though he ripped him up just before he got voted off, after the show Simon took him back stage, gave him his card and basically told him he'd give him all the help he needs to get his career off the ground.

He's a mean, straight-forward bastard, but he is not without compassion, it seems.

reality tv is all a load of shit. the bands/singers these shows churn out last a year then they get dropped by thier labels and ignored by the world.

I dunno about that. Most reality TV shows are shitty, but there've been a few good ones. Boot Camp on Fox was pretty awesome, and Murder in Small Town X was just plain creepy.
