K, Can someone translate the 'Party' Section in the PSU JP site? or explain to me a few things, because I'm a little confused.

How come you can have 6 ppl online but only 4 offline?
How will joined a currently in play game work?
I've seen pics of ppl in Loby/Cities who already have ppl in their party.
I've seen a pic where a character gets the option of adding a person their talking to in the loby, does that mean you have to make a party before you make a game?
What powers does the party leader have? like are they the only ones that can invite someone? or can they kick people out?

Where did it say that you can play with people offline?

I never remember reading that.

You do mean real people, right?

That would make my day.

You join partys in the city, the leader makes the game, and I dont know if you can join a game in progress or why you can have 6 in party online and 4 offline (is that official?), but if its true then maybe it has something to do with different missions and probably tougher difficulty of the game.

It's already been confirmed, no multiplayer offline.
http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif sorry for the bad news.

But anyways, I'll answer from top to bottom

Dunno
No data
Yes, that is how it works
Yes, you must make friends first.
We don't know.

EDIT: Bare in mind this is from what we know so far.

I think he knows no multiplayer offline, I think he was asking about the amount of characters in party offline compared to the party online

1. Where did you get the "4" number from? I haven't seen any reference to only being able to have that many people (AI Agents in this case) for your offline party.
2. We don't know enough information to be able to answer that question yet. We know very little about this aspect of the game.
3. In the case of a Mission-Based game, it seems like you'll have to setup your party ahead of time. If there is an option for playing freely in open areas, people will probably be able to join you.
4. There hasn't been any mention yet about the powers a party leader will have.

Maybe ST thought it was cheap for people to just... join a game in mid-play and come in like... right at a boss or something? I don't know. Maybe you will be able to join a game in progress. It has it's advantages/disadvantages I suppose.
Advantages:
-No more last minute people coming in and getting a free boss exp or anything.
-Can't go get your high-level to take out the boss for a friend after you had leveled your lower character up to the boss.

Disadvantages:
-Would take longer to xfer items because you'd have to give items, quit game, start new party, join new game... ugh.. pain >_>
-If you got disconnected... well dang >_> that sux.

1. The max is 6 ppl online. It varies with offline as chars will come & go from your group. In the demo, it varied by lvl so you wont have full control of that. You know, like any other RPG thats story-driven.
2. Apparently, you can form groups & still roam the cities before actually going to battle.
3. If its similar to before then the group leader would naturally have more abilities & responsibilities than others in the group. Its all speculative, but, you could guess how it would go.

Well, you can scratch that disadvantage because PSU will be broadband only. You don't have to worry about being disconnected like you do with dial-up. Which is nice for those with hi-speed but us with dial-up...Well dang that sux! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I think you can item transfer from "My room" i think.
Or maybe i'm assuming that "My Room" will be asigned by account, not by character. if it's by character i PRAY you can carry alot of times. lots, lots lots lots.

OdinTyler

Even if we cant hold alot of items, the mere fact that we have a whole apt to ourselves makes for TONS of bank space. One to two hundred bank slots wont cut it anymore. Now with all that room, we should be able to store even more stuff. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif What I would like to see, if at all possible would be a personal bank (per char) & a shared bank between all the chars of your acct. This way you can always pick up items your other chars would need without the need to constantly do transfers. If this were the case, then you wouldnt need gigantic amounts of room. It CAN be done. I just pray it was.

Oh really? That's... w0w. Wasn't aware my room will be my personal bank. (I was curious of why you would have a room in the 1st place >_< )... awesome.

Maybe ST was finally thinking about the players this time more than the game itself.

It is just hopeful speculation that we'll be able to use our rooms for banking purposes. Nothing official has been released saying you will be able to do that (at least that I've seen). If an official source has said something about the issue, could someone link to it?

Hmm, Well, how do most online RPGS like this handle it?

FFXI?
W.o.W.?

OdinTyler
Jan 24, 2006, 06:23 PM
True. I didnt say for sure that the bank would be in your room. I just dont see why it wouldnt be. It makes the most sense. Having it there opens up the chance to have more room, but, at least you can understand fitting all your items in a room. In PSO, you 'imagine' everything handed off at a counter. Somehow everything magically fits. LOL

PhruitBaskit
Jan 24, 2006, 07:13 PM
Yeah, storing items in your room would not only make a lot more sense, but think of how much more convenient it would be. Plus if it was all at one counter...Could you imagine the wating lines? LOL I would rather have items in Your Room. And maybe a few kick ass weps on the walls http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Maybe you should ask who will be the errand boy or gopher. Seems that you can have groups & still explore the city:

"OK, DM, go pick me up some groceries. You know, the usual: difluids, star atomizers, etc."

LOL

OdinTyler
Jan 26, 2006, 10:42 AM
Well, we were joking around but it was still technically on topic. We were discussing what we could do in group, which is in essence, the party system. Just speculating what can be done since apparently you can group & still free roam a city or the GC.

DeathMachine
Jan 26, 2006, 10:54 AM
Concerning parties, if challenge mode comes back, how hard would it be, seeing how groups can get to be 6 people. If only two go, then things would get a little hectic.

OdinTyler
Jan 26, 2006, 10:57 AM
I guess it would vary. I mean you start out pretty bare bones against decent lvled enemies. Thats a challenge in itself. As you saw, if C-Mode does return, our forum's already set up to accomodate.

If so, Im taking everyone out http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif Seriously tho, that should be adjusted. Have an 'Every man for himself' mode & then, every VS combo possible up to & including 6 players. Team battle mode would be pretty awesome.
