I was doing some searching today and came across the following page that had some sample PS2 packaging images on it:
http://momo-oh.runsystem.co.jp/kingdom/category.do/prog/action=certItem/id=000035-37699-1-0-0/classA=0/classB=0/classC=35/ctrlNo=37699/newOld=1/

Front:

Back:

I know we've seen the front of the package before, but I don't think the back has been posted.

hmm i wonder if the back of the US/EU package will be that crowded on the backside as well.

There is way too much text on it. => looks ugly on the backside.

I think I'll just place the "white background with PSU logo" in just to make it look more perfesional and less cluttered. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

On the back, it shows hearts and a hand holding a knife. Is that the rating system? If so, what are the hearts for? The knife may mean animated violence, but I can't figure out the hearts. Does it mean something to the effect of 'love interest'? Or something more risque? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

I'd imagine these ratings are similar to the 'PEGI' rating system in Europe.

The knife likely means there's violence in-game (beating up enemies).

The hearts- I'm going to take a guess and say it means there's romantic relations in-game, but I'm not honestly sure.

As far as the cover goes- I still can't believe they didn't change it http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif @ Magashi http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

The back looks really, really messy- just thrown together. I'd hope there's less text on the EU and US versions, it's a little unsightly.

The front cover would be much better if it was just the female beast. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Yeah, I would really prefer the plain white box with the PSU logo or the same one with some different chars on the front. I don't care...Whatever we get we get. I just want to get the game, regardless of what the box is like http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Personally, I like the cover as it is. If it did have a white cover with the simply the name..it would be more likely to be overlooked by those who haven't either a) heard of the series or b) bores them. A festive cover grabs more attention...
As for the back..it is a bit cluttered, then again its only a sample. The whole point of the cover of a game is to gain attention and back is to reveal and entise potential buyers with tidbits of the game itself.

Am I the only one here who wont look at the cover with a completely perverted point of view? For all we know, there will be a compromise. The artwork we've seen on the cover & the white cover for the manual. Who knows?
