Sega Link Registration Reminder

The date for the end of the pre-registration campaign is supposed January 31st. If you register before the deadline and go online, you are supposed to receive an exclusive in-game item. Since I haven't seen anything about the deadline being extended, I thought I'd give everyone a friendly reminder.

Registering and maintaing an account is free. You will still have to pay monthly fees to play the game.

It's a bit of a hassle on a Mac, but possible. You need to use the horrible Mac version of Internet Explorer, although you can use the Special Characters window from Safari to enter the kanji for your name. The 3rd screen of the registration process appears blank, but you still receive your confirmation email ok.

Registering your username is all you can do on a Mac though it seems, as logging-in on SegaLink.jp just hangs on the 'Please wait' animation. So entering any payment details will have to be done on a PC or with PSU itself on the PS2.

Do you have to sign up to Sega Link to play online for PSU or is that only for the Japanesse version? If it is I'll sign up now but if it isn't I don't really see a point to sign up now...

At the moment it's just for playing the Japanese version of PSU online.

It's possible they might extend SegaLink to worldwide around the time of the US/EU releases (SegaLink.com at the moment forwards you to SegaLink.jp), but we don't know anything for sure yet.

Do we know if SegaLink will be brought to other regions or is it definitely going to stay as Japan only?

SegaLink will most likely be Japan only. That's the way it's always been. In the DC days, it was Dricas. The GC days... well, it was just buying an HL. Just my guess, but I assume each region will have their own "thing".
