He said Sonic Team and Sega are already working on a fixed version of GC PSO. But he would like to ask for some time. He gave estimate of at least 2 months before the fixed version can be distributed.

By releasing this fixed version, he must make two important changes. Fixed version will play on its own exclusive server, and will not be able to play with the existing version. Second, the character data from existing verion will not convert to the fixed version. (!!! Pretty big statement there, IMHO.)

There are many players who is not aware of the situation, so the existing server will be home to those "innocent" players as well as those trying to take advantage of the bug. If the situation becomes unbearable, he will have no choice but to close the existing servers. (i.e., you will have to get the fixed version to go online.)

For that reason, he asks every player to not to rush to conclusion and jump on players who may be suspicious. He and SonicTeam will do their best to distibute the fixed version ASAP.

Opinions? I'm starting to think the US release date will be near the end of December/January now. T_T

So all I do is save my money for Metroid Prime and then ask for this for Christmas? Not the worst of problems. (Although PSO ep 1 and 2 was supposed to be my b-day present. Oh well, I can always add my b-day presents and my Christmas presents (probably the BBA) together!)

FUCK YOU SONIC TEAM!

Release it with the bugs I could care less, fucking bull, I just reserved it tonight too. Somehow the Japanese version will be released tommorow and be free, while everyone else gets a kick in the pants. FUCKING PANTS!

Not only that but importers might be getting screwed as well. Will they necessarily get new copies based on the fact they live in the US and not Japan? Will ST ship the new copies to the Japanese addresses they put into their HL info? The original copies might only last for two more months, which would mean all the work they put into their characters until then would be for naught. This seems to be a solution that hurts all sides...question is if it's worth it.

Pro: No bugs
Con: Longer wait

I guess it's a good thing I plan on buying Animal Crossing this weekend, hopefully it will keep me busy til then.

I don't think the US will suffer too much of a delay if any at all, but I'm optimistic.

There may not be much of a delay if ST makes new copies of both JP and US PSO simultaneously but I doubt it. Why would ST work on the US version of PSO just as hard as the JP version at the same time?

...Eh, sorry. Guess I'm just cynical towards them after everything that happened with v2 so I'm just doubtful. Hopefully, there wouldn't be a delay but don't think so.

Hey, you guys are lucky, least you will be getting it soon. Peeps in the UK will have to wait till like this time next year for them to bother translating it. And we cant even pass are time on Animal Crossing!

The game is already translated. It has the same language support the DC version does. What I'm wondering, is what are they doing that takes 2 months to swap out the default language for english, swap the intro video for the one with english text, and slap it in a US gc software box.

They still have to translate it to run on PAL tvs that dont support 60hz, they also have to translate the manuals into 5 different languages and other fiddly little bits and peices. Probably about 2 months work for them, but they will take a year to get it out in europe. I dont think they like us...

See what happens when you people go jumpy and screen to ST about duping? Duping isn'tmuch of a problem, and I don't see why people went crazy over it.

Now look what may happen. Blargh.

'F Sonic Team'?
Don't buy PSO at all then.
You can't tell someone screw them then buy their product anyway. You must be on one side or the other.
This topic was pretty much to inform everyone of what is being done about duping/release date not to bitch about it. Some people do not like it while others can wait and still be calm and collected.

If it makes the game better then so be it. Complain all you want; there is at least one person who doesn't complain per one that does, a ratio of at least 1:1
Don't assume that there are more complainers than not and everyone agrees with you.

Am i the only one here who's not bothered about a delay of one to three months.
Its a drag, but would you rather have something that could very easily end up ruinde ny cheats or would you prefer to wait a bit for something better.
Release dates should always be taken with a pinch of salt, sit back, relax and wait.

As long as the bug dosnt stop the game from working altogether I want PSO2 NOW, not in 2 months. There was duping in ver. 2. People still had fun.

well since i imported, i like the idea of having a fixed version released, but not being able to use my character on the new version is pointless, i wouldnt want to start over and raise my mag again and all that.

Why are you guys so surprised?

Blame the Japanese and importing gamers that are too damned impatient to wait. It really pisses me off when a group of people get a game early and then proceed to destroy it for everyone who has to wait.

Sadly, you have a strong point there. But oh well. Japan gets everything anyway.

Dont see what you people have to be mad about. You people knew what risks importing online games make. And the fact that any form of cheating as many people complained about here and everywhere else has been taken seriously is a good thing. Just because ST decided not to sit on their hands and do nothing and youre pissed?? Importing online games are the biggest risk any importer could make. Because the integrity of the game itself has to be protected for all of the people who have to interact and play with each other since people do their best to bring real world evils into the game enviroment itself. You arent technically supposed to be importing anyway and if crap like this happens, oh well.... buy another copy if you want.

Sadly, now I'm hoping that the US version does at least get delayed a month. Instead of going and buying it when it comes out with extra financial aid money (which is a lot http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif), my parents are going to wait until X-mas to buy it for me. Gotta love still living at home sometimes, bleh. The wait until then would be killer if it still comes out in October for me. >_<

Really I had a feeling this would happen. While I'm not completely happy about this, I'm not surprised. If it doesn't come out in October, that's just extra money for me, and I can get it @ Christmas. But by chance it does come out next month, I'll still be able to buy it. Either way we're getting it, so stop complaining. Just have a little patience.

Just as long as it gets released in 2002, if its in 2003, its pointless and something is wrong. Even if it gets delayed, there will still be bugs, it will not be perfect. Instead of telling us October 2002, don't tell us at all, I rather think I have to wait then get it early then think I am getting it tommorow and wait a month. Whatever though, still bullshit.

There will always be some kind of bug in a game that "allows" cheating. It's just probably from some kind of error that someone with a better knowlegdge of computer languages can find. Then exploiting it, and everything goes to hell. There is cheating in other games as well, but I don't know how rampant it is. There is really nothing than can be done, unless you want to wait maybe a year for them to fix every little line of coding....

And I believe the reason that it takes about two months for them to release it in the US, is they have to encode it so that US GCs can read it. For Region purposes.

Hi all...its been a while since i been to these boards. Its nice to see that people haven't totally forgotten about this game. I know i haven't =) This whole "release date" thing doesn't bother me in the least, the more bugs they fix, the better. And as for what someone was saying b4 about duping...duping I couldn't care less about. I hate BSOD, RSOD, and FSOD....those really piss me off. I lost a pair of Lavis Blades to an FSOD...

ST is only delaying the inevitable.
