Depends on if you will play the PC or PS2 version. If PC, then as long as you meet the requirements for running the game and have (strongly suggested) a broadband connection, then you're good to go. If PS2, then you need to have the network adapter for the older model (the newer slimline has a built in ethernet port) and a broadband connection. You may want/need a router so that you can share the connection between your pcs and your PS2. If you have a wireless router, and the PS2 is in another room, then you will need to get a wireless ethernet bridge (which you can pick up alot cheaper these days for around $50.)

So, with a wireless ethernet bridge like the one you mentioned.. I can use that and just connect on my PS2 with my already existing connection I'm using right now? It sounds like getting online with it should be pretty easy, but I figure I might as well ask since quite a few people here would already know what it involves.

I've never gone online with a PS2. I don't even plan on buying a PS2 until the next couple months, so I'm very new to this and quite clueless.

dont toss that keyboard too far away tho, unless you want to use thirdparty voicechat rooms.

I'd go for the Powerboard (Or is it called a Sharkboard?) personally. Its cheap @ about ten bucks and its been working great for me for almost three years. Or if you have a USB keyboard just lying around somewhere you could use that.

What do those things feel like? Are they heavy? I just can't imagine using a controller like that... its just so huge compaired to the PS2 controller.

I've kinda wanted to check them out... I saw the one made for GC but I wasn't online for that long (that and the fact that they were about $60). How much do the PS2 ones cost? Thats one reason I went with the powerboard; the fact that it was cheap.

That looks like the Logitech kb I have. The controller parts didnt last a long time. I still have em, but, theyve collected dust as theyve konked out on me. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif The kb itself is detachable & still works fine. Ill be relying on that for PSU. You could always use any USB kb & that would still work tho.

There is both a Shark and Powerboard. I personally prefer the PowerBoard, it has a better quality, and more resilience to advanced typing.. the SharkBoard on the other hand , while at 10 bucks,..isn't worth its salt..keys jam frequently and is made of cheap materials.
Although If you do have a USB keyboard, then the more power to you. Just be weary of the compact usb keyboards, most tend to have poor spacing, leading to frequent typos.

FTW means For The Win, its an odd yet simple acronym. Its kinda rare o.O..

But how would 'For The Win' be used in a normal convo? Is every convo a contest or something? LOL

OdinTyler, I thought you'd be a little more learned in the way of the Internets than that. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

FTW is shorthand for "For The Win".

Edit: Oh, looks like I'm late on the response. Multitasking ftl.

Seems to be used faily frequently in contexts such as mmorpgs

OdinTyler

I included MMOs & I never saw it there. I still dont get how its supposed to make any sense. Any other abbrev I understand but 'For The Win'? Since when is an MMO like a gameshow?
