Well, I have an idea what i am going to make... but i'm not sure if it will work. The "class" system lets you upgrade abilities to suit your preferences... MY preference would be to make a newman ranger with high attack. Will i be able to upgrade only my healing techniques? I don't want attack techs and i want the ranger accuracy... i don't understand what the requirments will be to use weapons though. Will we still have atp and ata and things like that?

Apparently, after using skills of a particular "type" (that's the official catch-all name for the Hunter, Ranger, and Force schism), you'll gain enough of some type of skill point to level up in that type. Levelling up the different types affects which stats raise; my typical combination of released info and idle speculation indicates that raising Hunter levels will give you more HP, ATP, and DFP, raising Ranger levels will give you more ATA, EVP, and LCK, and raising Force levels will give you mostly MST. Currently, we do not know how you will gain weapon proficiencies and special moves and I don't have enough information to speculate off of.

To create the build you're talking about, you'll probably need to interchange melee fighting and gun use often on the battlefield to keep your Hunter and Ranger levels even. If all you want out of Force is the healing techs, then just raise the level enough to get Resta and use it whenever (and only whenever) you need to heal yourself.

Of course, I could also be completely off base on everything I just said. We'll see how it works when the game comes out.

A Ranger or Force type Beast character for me. I like a challenge in leveling.

Well, yeah, it's just like how Kumi said. However, I don't know where leveling up comes in....

I really doubt you'd be able to build a character that's really good at healing, attack and accuracy. But, I HOPE there will be some serious versitility so that you can have a newman that can still own in melee while busting out some very handy heals. I for one want to have a Cast that uses melee weapons..

I'm sure we'll be able to make versitile characters without gimping them, though. Especially, seeing as how in the single player game there is a Newman that can't use techs... a Cast that we always see using melee weapons, and so on. I'm curious to see how the races balance out in comparison to eachother.

The only race I imagine being unflexible is the Beast race, which I plan on playing. I want a bruiser and a dominator in the fray because I'm a head-on, gung-ho kinda guy when it comes to gaming http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Lol me too. (well, except for the 'guy' part http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif) It drives my rogue-worshipping friend nuts http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif It's the reason I can't stand to play as a Force, or even a Ranger, for very long...

Hopefully the leveling system will give us a lot of customization; I like the idea of everyone who plays having a different experience (uh, no pun intended http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif ).

I'm still not 100% sure how the system works as far as skill upgrading. I'm hoping that you can level all three skills to maximum by the end of the game, so I don't have to keep track of limits and stuff like you had to when using materials in PSO. That's the one thing that kinda irritated me about the game was the fact that, if you didn't keep track of certain things, you'd mess up your character. I hope PSU makes things a tad bit more simple for people like me who don't like to tally stuff on paper all day http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Anyway, if you can indeed level all three skills to maximum, then you honestly don't have anything to worry about. Just level up whatever you feel like leveling up I guess. If you don't care about magic all that much, you can always save leveling it up for later.

I'm not sure yet, because I'm not entirely sure how the system works. If the game lets you level up all three skill types to the maximum, then I'd pick all three. But if they have a limit to how much total leveling up you can do, like if you level up one skill too much you can't level up other skills as high, then I'd probably focus mainly on Hunter skills.

You cant max all 3 types. What would be the point then? LOL You choose your type as what you would like to major or specialize in. You can always add points elsewhere but youll have 1 maybe 2 focuses.
