ive heard a scary rumor online

ive heard that pso is going offline next month, some of my friends say its going to be this december.
if either of these are true i will be sad.
i only got to start playing online last month now ppl are sayin i hav to give it up over psu which isnt even for xbox!i dont hav any form of online on my ps2 and im not plannin on gettin it >=(

As far as I know, the rumor is just that: a rumor. There has been no direct statement given by Sega, ST, or any other involved company to confirm the ending of PSO on any console as of yet.

Which version? There were some post for Xbox but not for GC.

I play on the xbox version because it is the most efficient.that way im not paying online fees for just one game. i do play other games as well, i just like playing pso very much

There was a rumor posted on here a couple weeks ago claiming that the OP had "inside information" on PSO shutting down the Xbox servers. Their whole argument was based solely on the fact that it's still Christmas in the lobbies.
This was also discussed on the Xbox Live forums as well, and thus far has been proven to be FALSE.

Considering the DC servers are still up, (the EU/JP ones at least, this seems to be a load of tripe to me, though I do think they should stop charging for the servers, many other MMORPG's are free, (Monster Hunter, NeverWinter Nights, Baldur's Gate, Guild Wars, RuneScape...), and they're free, and many people play on unofficial servers anyhow, that and technically Sega could be sued for failing to provide a service anyhow, it's not exactly as though they go out their way to stop cheaters and give us new content.

I just can't wait until PSO5/PSU comes out, it's gonna' be hacked ot hell, lag even more than GC, and Sega will stop producing stuff for BB, consdiering thay're gonna'charge you just for setting an account up, not offer you a free trial period and charge 50% more to play it online.
