what do you do when somebody steals your very rare legit weapon?

Forget about it mostly, under certain circumstances.

If the guy screws you over when your trading, you SHOULD have his card becasue thats what you do when you trade, so then DONT forget about it and stalk him and mail spam him and hang around next to him till he dies ect.

If you die he runs over picks it up and d/c's...forget about it, you aint gettin it back.

I remember one time in version 1 a guy PK'ed me and took my Gungir, nothing big, I had plenty more, but it pissed me off! I chased him and bugged him for hours after that, annoying the hell out of him. I used to steal the guild cards of people who did stuff to me then follow them around, disconnecting them whenever I could.

Back then, I didn't use my rares when I was playing with strangers. I always had slew of "expendable weapons" such as standard Gungnir or Rayguns w/ bad ability. So if I die and someone picks it up, bah.

Since I'll most likely have the fucker's card, I'll follow him everywhere, mass-simplemail him, basically annoy the shit out of him until he gives said weapon back. If he disconnets, I search for him using the card, every 5 minutes.

Never actually find a really rare weapon because of being legit and make do with normal, boring 50-60% Varistas/Red Handguns.

Er...never really though much of it...in v1 used to go round the Ruins alot ofline and eventually got some Varistas with 40-50% and then got em to 50-60% at the Tekker. Gave em away now to some frineds...

Have got a 50% Machine and a 50% Dark, those any good?

EDIT: Sorry forgot to say...the last two are Red Handguns. Got em in the forest offline.

I think the rarest rare I ever found was a 0% Spread Needle in v2 in the Very Hard Ruins when I was material hunting. That or a God/Technique, good for force bat for me (HUcast). Gave it to a friend...
