I've had gc pso for about 2 weeks now and I'm level 108. I decided to be a fonewearl because she is my favorite class. Anyway, I made it to 200 with this character on dreamcast and I notice the GC version is a cake walk. For one there is less exp to level up. In GC pso level 100 to 101 needs 78k instead of 100k like DC version. Currently I am at level 108 and I only need 110k to level up. In version 2 this level needed over 200k. Also, I asked a level 121 person what is total exp was and he said 5 million. Again dc version was far more, you were closing in on the 10 million mark at 121. Now get this ultimate mode gives more exp and is a lot easier to complete. On gamecube the sil dragon gives an awsome 15900 points for killing it! On dreamcast it was in the 7000 range. The other bosses give even more exp. In gc pso force have an easy time. Techs do a lot more damage. I can do ultimate heat sword in 30 minutes just by using techs. The sil dragon goes down real easy using only foie. Offline ultimate mode my techs do up to 500 damage! I made it to ultimate mines with a "weak" fonewearl at level 77. My techs were not even over 14 too. The game is so easy now. You should see a lot more people at high levels this time around.

Wow. This can be seen as both good and bad. It felt like more of an accomplishment when you achieved 100, and especially 200. Now, level 200s are gonna be everywhere. Oh well, at least FOnewearls actually do crazy amounts of damage this time! And I suppose it'll be more incentive for me to make more characters.

Kekeke I'm gonna get multiple level 200 characters, then =>.>=; Guess that means I'll need a third memory card to get all 12...

Speaking of techs doing more damage, i tried the battle rule 6 off-line, my fonewm vs my hucast and at lvl 20 the rafoie took half of the hucasts life. O_O.
And as long as i have my hucast to bring in the big bucks to support my low lvl fos expensive fluids, lvling by myself has never been easier.
Fos are definatly a more solid class this time around.

This is all great to hear, may-hap I'll make a force as well this time around =)
With this damage increase in techniques, I wonder how much damage a force with max MST would do with level 30 Grants...

This is great ^_^ Now multiple characters won't be that hard to keep up with. Thanks a lot for the info Scan.

Am I the only one who sees this as not so good?
I liked being level 160 cuz its more then 1/3 of EXP needed to attain lvl 200. And not many people were that high.(most PSOW were).
Now if everyones going to be hitting this level with ease.....
And was I the only one who liked playing for like a whole day straight just to get one level up and feel reeeally good about it?

Probably. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif
I'm happy with the changes. Now it won't take six months to a year to become level 200 with one character. Even at level 135 in the DC version, I started getting bored leveling my HUmar just because it took so long with little benefit.

Granted there is only so many times you can play through the entire game to gain experience before you got bored out of your mind.
If you think about it, we all played PSO, the same four levels, repeatedly, over and over and over again for a year. And yet we all miss it. That's saying something.
But I think the ability to level up faster than Vers 2 on the DC is a nice improvement. And it will encourage people to have more than one character.
So eager to play ;_;

Well @ least now I don't have to play several hours a day just to get one level....that's why I'm happy about it.

In my opinion I think it is bad because it will make the game shorter. I think it would be better if we get a little less exp for longer gameplay

Nope, I enjoyed days like that http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif. Especially when I'm doing it with friends in similar situations. It was awesome! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Sweet!! I guess this means I'll have some time to try my hands with that little FOmar ^^;
And so what if we've got lobbies full of level 200 people? Does it matter that much? Just a thought...

Are you kidding me? It's soooo much harder to get level 200 on the Gamecube version! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Hopefully, you're joking or you know something we don't. Now I'm worried that the difference between 199 and 200 will be a departure from this and be like 20 million needed.

Hopefully, somewhere in between easy and insane (93 million XP!!!!) will be the actual experience you need to get to lv 200.

Actually, I think it was closer to 96 million...
(and if anybody says 3 million exp isn't that much of a differance, I'll shoot you in the foot).

Yeah i did notice that ultimate mode much more easier than before. Its good they made lvling to 200 less exhausting. I used to find myself falling asleep trying to lvl up after 130 in the ver2.

Closing in on 10 million? My FOmarl (version 2 mind you) is level 120, with 6.5 million experience, and 300k to the next level. So at level 121, she'll have almost exactly 6.8 million experience. That's hardly closing in on 10 million, heck its closer to 5 than it is 10

What I meant is that by the time you are done with the 120's you are at or near the 10 million mark (I can't really remember it has been a year, but I know it happens in the 120's or early 130's). You said you need 300k to level up at 120. I also asked the guy how much exp he needed at 121 on gc and he said 191k. Big difference in my opinion. It does not really matter where the 10 million mark is. The point I was trying to make is that gc pso has less total exp and less exp to gain at the corrisponding levels on dc.
Now if the game makes an exp jump some where down the road, I have no clue of. Even if the exp to 200 ends of being the same it will still be easier than before. Ult gives more exp now, and the monsters are weaker. Then you have ep2 ult that gives even more exp.

That disappoints me. I always look for challenges (that aren't overchallenging, as in pretty much IMPOSSIBLE, and I don't think in v2 was it impossible to get to 200) and now that people are claiming that you get more exp in Ult and less exp needed to level up, I'm rather disappointed.

I never leveled up very high but I am kind of glad it won't take as long, it kind of gets boring just leveling up for hours on end to reach 200. I just hope it's not too easy and every newblet on the block will reach it in no time.

I remember when I still played Ver.2. It would take me a whole day to level up. I enjoyed it, immensely. I would go through V-hard ruins sometimes up to ten times a day getting items and exp. Remember, this is all offline, I could never get online. Devotion, that's what makes a gamer.

thats not what makes a gamer at all. this is a good change. leveling took far too long in v2.
dc v2 was not challenging it was monotonous, I was falling asleep doing the same thing over and over to finally level like a couple days later.

I am glad its a little easier to level now, because all I use is forces.
I remember when i was in v2 DC and i was lvl 110, i would play with 2-3 lvl 150 people. (non forces)
And they would level up 2 times before I did! Because of the last hit rule, so with less exp for each level and easier monsters and magic doing more damage maybe I could get some kills in, plus lvl faster http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Nooooo!
But seriously that is really a shame. Ultimate mode was never hard (ok...ok...if you were a hunter it was never hard...) my friend and I went online together both at lvl118 and kicked the hell out of Ultimate Dark Falz using nothing more than a couple of Red Handguns (One with 50% Dark the other 55% Dark both legit) and our old v1 Ultimate frames (4 slot, I bought them in Ultimate mode in the shops), Celestial shields, State/Maintenance (Forest), God/battle (Ruins) and then whathever we had left over. Still only lvl134 but all my stats bar ATP and HP are maxed and I can't even use HP materails anymore...
Back to the point, I like the idea that its not such a drag getting to level 200 however I don't like that Ultimate has go easier. It was fine as it was, what they really needed to do was up the exp you got from enemies and cut the amount needed as they have but leave the difficulty the same.
Really Rangers needed some good weapons (In v1 you couldn't move in ruins without at least 1 Visk or Crush Bullet) in v2 there are none. Making the rares so you can actually find them, mainly for the red weapons which should have been the most comon rare so that people could actually get decent weapons.
The last thing relates to the forces...I agree they needed to do more damage BUT if they do more damage than a Hunter and can attack from outside a room (I have a friend with a lvl80 force, he has lvl27 disks and a god/technique, his razonde hits from the next room...) it kinda makes having a force in a party pointless cause they'll get all the exp...
Oh god...
*Looks at how much he's written*
Sorry for going on so long. Yes, yes I know if you don't like it don't buy it. Well I'm buying it anyway...question is ill my v2 char get to 200 before my new Episode II one?

Since FO's can do more dammage and ult being easier mebe i can finally do ULT ruins offline!!
I'll probably have all 12 chars this time round so hopefully i can get them all around the same lvl this time round.
Episode I is now a LOT easier. I can constantly do soft, hard, hard combinations in ultimate forest without missing. This is only with 200 ATA total, combined with a weapon. When I finally hit mines, I was thinking that I was going to get pwned, plain and simple. However, my weapons I used in forest did the same amount of damage in ultimate mines...
This is only offline mode though, online mode is a lot harder. But still, it is easier.
Episode II is a lot harder than Episode I -_-
I get pwned by Olga in Very hard mode offline...
Hmm...well it really can't be a bad thing since the exp total you had at level 151 was only 25% of the total needed to hit 200. Very rarely did anyone get beyond 40 million exp.
So this choice is a good one, but it certainly won't cause everyone to be level 200, more like level 160~180. Unless extreme mode gives even larger exp amounts.
Since techs are fixed I guess I'll stick with my FOnewearl.

Only the most dedicated, crazy or unemployed made it to level 200 before. Most people that I knew just said "screw it" and packed it in. It was a deterrent for many people. This is very good news.

But anyay, it will be cool to actually get past lv 130 for once. This will encourage people to try more than one class hopefully. I know I'll be filling up all four of my character slots.........

Ya, I see how you feel about leveling up faster. But I think we should be able to acheive level 999... Just a thought. But anyways, Theres a good part about it and a bad part about it, but nothing we do will change that, so lets all just deal with it!
I think that it's good how they made things easier. I only got to level 105 when I quit.
