I'd guess sometime very soon after launch of Xbox Live. at Gamespot they have an ST Q&A and Yuji Naka said that they've shipped the finished gold master to microsoft and it's just a matter of when MS decides to publish it.

Hmm... is it worth it to try and email microsoft about bringing out PSO on xbox as soon as they can?

Nah...

I just read that (before coming to PSO World), and I hope MSFT sees that PSO would make a good Xbox Live launch title. They only have 7 titles listed for launch, none of which I'm interested in (though I know they aren't catering to my personal preferences or anything).

Okay, It's still hard to imagine them getting the game done so fast.

GS: How were you able to get the game on the Xbox so quickly?

YN: [laughs] Everyone almost worked themselves to death. It was very hard, but we wanted to make sure the game was ready for the launch in the United States. Microsoft is in charge of selling it so we're not sure when it's going to ship. Everything is complete now; they have the game. I was hoping they would sell it immediately, but I have a feeling they may be waiting to see what the market situation is to decide the right time to release. Maybe if the fans asked for them to release it right away, they might release it sooner? [smiles]

GS: Will Xbox and GameCube owners be able to play together online?

YN: No, Xbox Live is a closed network.

GS: You mentioned some time ago that there had been even more classes planned for the original Phantasy Star Online. Are the new additions to Episode I & II all of them? Or were there even more you would have liked to include?

YN: If the series is going to have a long life, I think we'll have to make sure we're constantly adding to it. So I think that we'll add more classes in the future.

I'm glad Microsoft has not released the game yet. This gives Sonic Team time to fix anything they're not happy with.

even if it is, the xbox one can be easily patched.

If PSO can still be played offline, and there are offline bugs, then patching is meaningless.

Oh, I can't dupe with this patch? Just erase the PSO data, dupe till my heart's content, and reconnect online and recieve the patches again. Wheeee!

Offline mode is, and forever will be the source of PSO's biggest problems. They're going to have to ditch it, plain and simple, if they want the majority of cheating to stop. Microsoft's servers can be the most secure type stuff around, but if offline mode remains, you can't stop people from exploiting offline-mode-related bugs. Not unless offline and online mode characters are made seperate.

Considering my current broadband adapter issues with GCN PSO, I think I may be purchasing the Xbox edition come next year after all. Quite frankly, this is ridiculous.

Theoretically, the patch *could* be "hidden"...It could not appear on the XBOX HDD with the rest of the PSO info. But, still, if that's the case, then people would still be able to dupe to their heart's content until they go online the first time.

We can only hope that Sonic Team gave Microsoft some kind of "fixed" version.

I honestly just hope they have characters that can't be played offline.
