I've only just jumped on the PSO band wagon a couple of days ago and I love it!
But something terrible happened to me yesterday.
I thought I'd be really adventurous and try playing on a Japanese server. Never again!
I had been playing for about five minutes when someone joined in mid-game. As soon as they arrive the screen froze, my character dissappeared, my name had changed to SOKON, my Level changed to 10 (previously 6....so bonus really) and I could not escape! Then I got messages saying "LOL" and "Red.Fagget" Only way out was a hard reset.
And when I restarted, yes you guessed it, I was still this new person SOKON. I cried myself to sleep after that.
Anyone know what this was? Anyone had it happen to them?
I have ver.2

Please, no flaming.
No one flamed you, they just told you what is considered common knowledge.
Yes, most people have been PK'ed or some other devious act, it happens. As to whether the new versions will have the bugs or not is up in the air. Read around in the General forum for abit of information and get your bearings set on whats been happening with the new releases.

You're a hypocrite, an idiot and an asshole.
Hypocrite, because you posted in this thread.
Idiot for your statement.
Asshole because he asked a question and you couldn't even give a straight answer, then you say the game is basically a piece of crap for somebody who had just bought the game. Effectively trying to spoil the game he had just bought.
Hoolak, your character was overwritten by an NPC. Commonly known as being NOL'ed.
Here's some advice: if anything out of the ordinary happens to your character, pull out your memory card and choose to not save. Avoid lv200 characters, most of them are cheaters. Try not to carry so many extra un-equipped items with you during gameplay, there's a little thing that other players can use to cause your game to crash. Commonly know as FSOD.
If you have any more problems, feel free to ask.

Again, stop the blatant flaming. No one flamed him originally, they just gave their view, no matter how rude it might have seemed.
Keep it civil guys, no more flames in this thread, yeah?
Hoolak, you'll learn all the news and so on in time, just make sure to look around PSOW at some topics and get a feel for whats new to you. And have some fun.

Ok, I haven't been able to get on that much today, and I saw TWICE Abdur had to step in...
One more flame and this will be locked.

Yep those hackers can be quite annoying... This happened to my brothers character when he was lvl 157 :/ all that hard work for nothing! All I can say is be careful who you play with and if you do get NOL'ed immediately pull out your memory card and then unplug the phone line.... wait for awhile and it will say you have been disconnected at which point you quit but don't choose to save. Best of luck in your future PSO adventures!

I so know how you feel. My sympathies. Last week I got on the DC servers (which I haven't done in almost a year), just to see if they were still up and to see what was going on.
I was in a game, when someone joined. My screen froze, then I saw the name HOPKINS appear. I was thinking "Oh, someone's joining me." not thinking that the name HOPKINS appeared on the area of the screen MY characters data was. Then my character went invisible and level 21. Ugh. Down the drain went my level 100 (PSO 1 player) FOmarl, along with her weapon and armor. Fortunately stuff in bank is safe. Even trying to get out of it, I'm still stuck with HOPKINS on my DC's VMU. Ugh, and the character they stuck me with is so god forsakenly ugly.
Now I remember why I do not play on DC servers anymore...

I was about to reply to this same shit when you already fucking beat me to the punch.
A guy asks a solid question about the game and some people here come out with replies like that have a 14 inch dildo in their asses.

I have been changed into tons of different NPC's, and I never really cared because Pulling out the VMU and phoneline cures it. I would get NOLed or whatever, do the anti NOL, go back on a tell the NOLer "Could ya try again? It didn't work." Eventually they got bored and left me alone.
The weirdest thing any hacker/cheater did to me on DC was talking through my character. I was in Pioneer 2 and this one person was doing it to everyone in the game, making us sound like fools.
