I was just wondering if anyone has ever found a
Heaven Punisher. I've been doing Ultimate Cave-Yellowboze runs non-stop for nearly a month now. I mean I have done nothing but kill Crimson Assassins in Cave 1 and 2 over and over because I want the gun but the drop rate seems absurdly low.
If anyone has any insight, advice or info I'd appreciate some feedback. Also, if anyone can explain to me the drop rate % scenario for this particular item I'd also be grateful for that as well. Thanks^^/

I think it's more than 1/120000. good luck. You'll need it.

Crimson Assassin has 1/190,651 droprate.

Advice? Start a Bluefull character. 1/205 from a Ep1 Hildetorr.

I have found one yes, during a Whitill Mines run along time ago. It's like 1/171k or something like that.

Hmm thanks for the feedback. I do have one question some people will understand and others will find it silly. Is there any known instances where rare item drop %'s have anything to do with certain factors i.e. internet beats etc etc?
For example: In FFXI I'm a Lv100 Woodworker. As such I craft during optimum synthesis times such as New and Full Moon. Also drop rates on items, from my experiences, seem to be slightly better during these moon phases. So yeah, are there any types of hidden effects like that in Episode I and II? Thanks again^^/

All signs point to no regarding beat times and rare drops. There are weapons that are affected by beats but that's another story.

Yes, I know http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif I'm spending an extraordinary amount of time hunting an item with a special based on beats. What I've been doing is starting a yellowboze multi-player game and leveling my Whithil RAmar while hunting the Punisher. I did this same thing until my RAmarl got Lv200 but no point in wasting time with that character for the time being when I could be getting exps on other characters. What I've decided to do though is solo on my Yellowboze Force (Lv89) through all the boring quests so I can do the quest with lots of Crimson Assassins. I think it's Addicting Foods quest..maybe my chances will go up..

I really wouldn't bother with the Yellowboze HP drop. 1/190,651 is insanely hard, even in a quest with tons of Assassins. If you're serious about hunting Heaven Punisher, consider making a Bluefull, or even a Skyly/Purplenum if you can get online.

I do have a Lv129 FOmarl (Bluefull) on another memory card and I have spent a lot of time hunting Hildetorr's as well. I even spent 2 hours trying to pipe one. Needless to say that was an unpleasant experience. My quests on that character are incomplete as well, meaning, I can't repeat quest(s) which are heavy in Hildelt numbers because I haven't beaten all the quests in all tiers once yet http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif As far as online goes my account is inactive because I'm just assuming no one plays Episode I and II online with the Gamecube anymore, although I could be wrong. Thanks for the tips though.

You could just repeatively do the Forest of Sorrow quest... there's quite a large amount of Hildelts there. I wouldn't pipe... If anything i'm going to get SOME experience from my item hunting >_>

I've got 8 characters. Nearly 1600 hours was spent getting my RAmarl to Lv200 and my other active characters get the same attention so I'm not hurting on exps^^
I don't pipe often but on certain days I'm just not in the mood to trek through the game for 15+ minutes only to just -then- start getting to the mobs I need. ^o^b

I can beat that. I've got 8 active, 3 inactive (1 of which I may re-create). I sympathize with ya, believe me I do. Seems like endless repetition. My FOmarl's my highest at 138. You have a RAmarl too huh? She's my second highest at 100.

FayteEternal

Yeah. My RAmarl (Fayte) was my main character when I played online many moons ago. I stopped playing online when FFXI came out and now 2 years later into FFXI I'm taking a break and wrapping up some things in PSO. I just got Lv200 on my RAmarl like 2 weeks ago which is shameful seeing as the game came out 4 years ago, heh. But now I am hunting the one gun I never got to have or could find before - Punisher...
I need to find the damn gun before PSU comes out!^^;

I found one on Greenill a long time ago. Don't know what the drop rate is. The easiest way to find it is going to be through Bluefull from a hildetor. Saiffwin found his that way.

Yeah, I've got my Bluefull FOnewearl (Lv129) prepped now and am giving my poor Yellowboze FOnewm a breather from Caves. Knowing me I'll get frustrated and start trying to pipe a Hildetorr but I just read an old thread on Gamefaqs saying excessive piping can cause Gamecube malfunctions or character/data corruptions, is this true?

Excessive piping will cause unecessary wear and tear on your GC's disk reader.

But don't worry, I have piped loads, and my GC works fine... Except for that trail of smoke coming out the side. :w@kk0:

I found a Heaven Punisher from some random dude ages ago on PSO PC. Cool handgun. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Well, I would really advise you to try with bluefull all the way supposing you wanna have any chance on getting this weapon at all. I think you total a best drop rate searching for torrs. Anyway, I would like to ask coz I've been hearing a lot of ppl telling heaven punisher special does minor damage on ultimate mode and is not really worth getting. I wanna know what do you think and if it does so low damage, how much on average?

FayteEternal
04-05-2006, 01:01 AM
I just want the gun because out of all the weapons I obtained during my online tenure, when the game was in its prime, I never got a Punisher.
My RAmarl uses Guld Milla, Snow Queen and Spread Needle. I just want the Punisher for it's eye-candy special attack, not because it's superior in damage or anything. It's just one of those goals where you have everything already but are missing that certain something and want it.
I spent over a month doing Yellowboze Caves and killed more Crimson Assassins than I would care to count so yeah, gonna go back to Bluefull Forest and be bored out of my mind hoping a Hildetorr falls from the sky and drops my little PlayStation controller. (I've always thought the gun looked like it anyway > >)

Fayte, I myself spent a month or so on Blue Burst torr hunting. It will destory any desire to play PSO, as well as your eyes and sanity. In two weeks I found some 20-25 Torrs, and that was because of doing about 50 FoS runs a day. So after all that hard work, nothing, and technically speaking, that's only 1/10 of the work required to find one (ON AVERAGE).

I see what you mean Green. However, when things get tedious, repetitive or just flat-out boring, I take a break from the game. I dumped 2+ years into FFXI non-stop (Still active) so I understand how camping a worthwhile item can become a major time-sink quickly. Try camping for a 200 million gil Kraken Club every day (or something close). It can drain you but...it can also pay off as my friends and I have got 3 clubs from Lord of Onzozo since the game came out. The best way is to just keep on going.http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif/

Well, if you have PSO PLUS, I personally would suggest Purplenum Mericarol since you get exp and other rares while hunting it.

:/

GrumblyStuff
04-06-2006, 01:49 AM
1/12604? Still rough but you're right. Lots of good rares. The Sigh of a God, Partisan of Lightning, Agito 1975, God/Ability, Gi Gue's Body, Hitogata, Demonic Fork, and Rika's Claw.

FayteEternal
04-06-2006, 02:35 AM
I never bothered with PSO+, Episode III or BB because I've been too wrapped up with FFXI with the exception of this month (Taking a break) so unless the rare item drops are similar to that of GC PSO then I'm not sure what you would be talking about.
The very first character I ever made for GC PSO was a HUnewearl (Purplenum) but she's more or less a storage mule now. BRE, are you saying Mericarol's in Episode II drop Punisher for Purplenum or did I misunderstand?

FayteEternal
04-06-2006, 02:46 AM
Nevermind. I looked for myself and the gun does drop for Purplenum. It would seem my drop print-outs are severely outdated seeing as mine are not only in-complete in several sections but was written by Hoorayforpunkrock. If anyone has ever heard of him then you would know how old my list is . /blush

My response was geared more towards something as malicious as selling the Punisher to a vendor for 10 meseta when I've been hunting the gun now for a month and a half. It's borderline criminal..

I still haven't seen a single hildetorr yet, and I've done forest of sorrow about 15 times (I know it isn't enough). They drop frozen shooter, which I'll give to my Ramar, but I need luck... (Why doesn't my LCK work on real luck? I have 60 of it...).

In the room with the four Hildelts, pipe 'em a couple times just to increase the number you see in a run.

Also, skip all the Barble/Bartle rooms; instead, either do the Forest 1 route with all the Gulgus' or just run through Forest 1 altogether (you don't have to kill anything if you run past the Barbles).

Are you for real vorahk? Is your brother ok? I would have killed him lol
You're joking right?
