Sega Link ID help [Archive]

I'm trying to sneak my way into the beta, but I need a Sega Link ID first. I know some of you have it, so I'm hoping you can help me out.

I filled out the whole form, but when I hit what I'm assuming is the continue button (the other one clears the form) there is a pop up window checking the avialability of the ID, which is ok, but then it dumps back to the form page and highlights the 4th line if text for the ID field. I think it's the between 4-14 characters, and you cannot change it later? the id is between that, and I know I cant change it, what am I doing wrong?

Ok, i think I got it. I had to use a REALLY roundabout way of inputting the katakana, but It worked

I keep getting connection errors. Specifically this:

With problem of the server or network it failed in connection with the server. Log in please do once more.

Is Segalink having problems with everyone trying to log in at once or is there something wrong with my account?

Are you using Internet Explorer 6? Do you have cookies turned on? Some of the errors on Sega Link can be cryptic.

mine has something to do with my name i put in, i worked out with microsoft word that it is a false name i put in, i am using the translated page as a guide and the japanese one for regestering. i am typing on katakana, i am putting in my name and some charater won't translate, i remove those characters, what shall i put in there?

My advice for you would be just to get your name as close as possible. Depending on what your name is, it maybe impossible to fully translate it into Japanese.

When I created my account, I used the IME drawing tool to draw the appropriate katakana.

I was using all of those. I figured it out, PeerGuardian was blocking Sega's connections to me.

I think ive done everything else correctly, but there is a 4th red line of text in the username section, i know its the same as my other name thing but ive tried different ones aswell thats just what was on at time of print screen.

That's the error I was getting before when I made the topic. My problem was I was using a babled opera window, which just didn't work, I had to do it through IE, but it looks like you guys are, so I don't know what to tell you.

Fixed now, i had a dot at the end of my name which was shown on that name translator but obviously wasnt meant to be there. Now i dont know what to do to submit an entry, but its late and im tired...

This only applies to your Sega Link avatar. If you don't buy your avatar some clothes, they get to stand around in their underwear.

It is a rather elaborate online system put in place by Sega to handle Japanese player accounts for several games. Besides handling player accounts, you given a customizable avatar and the ability to buy things for him/her. I believe it also has horoscope, mini-game, and blog functionality built into it.

It is a fairly nice system if you know how to read Japanese and don't mind using IE.

I'm having a lot of problems with entering in my full name in Katakana. I'm using Windows XP and I believe I was doing it right.

As far as I know Justin = ﾏﾅﾄｶﾆﾐ (This probably won't show up right)
