There's no secret meaning to my title, it's just 3 mini Rants is all http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Number 1. You made a commitment. Don't complain.

Situation: I just did the 30 Hour Famine. Other people did the 30 hour famine. They signed up for, and agreed to, not eat for 30 hours, and they knew what they were getting into.

So the people who supervise us are allowed to have food, because they aren't fasting. You know what I've noticed? After no eating a whole day, it's really not that hard to not be pained by seeing other people eat (Actually, this was a lesson learned last year, during my, "Let's get not fat!" phase). This is probably just me though, so that's why it's my rant http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif It's just annoying to hear how these people will die if they have to keep looking at food.

Number 2. Trust.

Ok, I was having a conversation with Saiffy... Thursday? Friday morning? I dunno if I was on the computer Friday morning. Either way.

He thinks that trust only exists on a personal level. I believe trust exists, but I'm not gonna deny that their are bad people.

So anyways, this conversation came up when I told him that we were trusted not to eat breakfast in the morning, since our famine started at midnight and not at school.

I dunno how many people did cheat, but I'm gonna assume they all didn't (Cause, that would be what I do http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif), but one idiot kid just said it. "I've been eating all day. And I'm about to go to the movies, watch Bench Warmers with a huge bag of Popcorn." How retarded.

To be fair though, I think I accidentally cheated myself. During math, I was half falling asleep, and the person behind me offered me the rest of her pop, and without thinking I took it. Then when I realised it, I was all, "Crap crap crap!" I dunno if pop was allowed, but juice was allowed (Which seems dumb to me, but when in Rome... http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif?)

So I guess Saiffy kinda proved me wrong, despite me still believing trust exists outside personal levels http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

EDIT: Although I'll add, even after those 2 things, the night was really fun, crazy even!

Number 3. MY LIPS.

I have this white sore thing on the inner part of my lower lip. It comes up every once in awhile. It started last week, and I know it goes away eventually, but it's very painful until then. My friend assumed it came from when our school had our MT Variety Show, but I don't think so. It makes it hurt to play Trombone, and considering that's one of the things I look most forward to everyday, it's annoying.

Actually, if anyone might know what that's called, or something that could help, that'd be great. So far, ice is my friend. My cold, cold friend http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Yeah, that's it. 3 dumb rants pour vous

I had to have minor surgery in the doctor's office during a random appointment for a cist that was inside my lower lip as well. It started small then puffed up with pus. Yay bad mental image.

Aww yeah, random appointment turns into a scalpel in my mouth and taking the culture for testing.

Won't hurt to get it checked out as it could be nothing.

Well if you made a commitment and followed it all the way through while others didn't, more power to you knowing you did it, and they weren't strong enough.

As if I know what you're even talking about anyway.

What good words. :>
It is true though a lot of people commit to something and well, don't really understand what a commitment is. They'd just go half-ass on everything. That IS annoying. Want to slap them.

On the trust issue. I think I agree with you more than I do in Saiff. Trusting people in general might almost be a "faith" thing. Just remember because one kid was an asshole and act like one doesn't mean everyone is an asshole. You can still trust some people would be decent, and some people, like you, didn't eat anything for 30 hours.

And that lip thing. It could very well just be a common cold sore. But, just in case it turns out to be the Hayabusa thing, go drop by a doctor and have it checked out. They might be able to recommand you something to put in too.

Good luck.

Rant comment, divided into three mini-comments. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

1. Well, you're always gonna get whiny people who like to complain when they are doing something that's not too easy.

2. I know what you mean. I tend to assume the best in people, even if the odds are that they are not being trustworthy. On a side note, drinking some pop isn't really breaking your fast, so don't worry about it. It's not like you can get full from a sip of soda. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

3. I hope it's not a tumor. >_>;

Go see a doctor and have him take a look at it. At the least, he could be able to give you some painkillers.

I used to get those 'white sore thing's all the time. They're called ulcers, and I found a wikipedia entry that should help you understand it and make it better. :3

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mouth_ulcer

I eat a LOT of ketchup, and drink a lot of acidy drinks, so I got them a lot. I think I must have built up an immunity, because I rarely ever get them now. >_> Anyway, hope it helps

Thanks Scrub, I thought it was something along the lines of a canker (But didn't want to say in place of sounding stupid). Actually, having it called an ulcer freaked me out http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

Right on http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Thanks other people too http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Yeah I was going to suggest an ulcer as well.

Yeah, I was going to say canker sore. I get them sometimes too. Though as far as I know, they're also a form of herpes. I know how bad that sounds, but that's what doctors have said. Once you get them, you'll get them for the rest of your life, on and off. Though, I can say that as far as prevention goes, I found that I never EVER got them while I was having my "omg must drink lots of milk all the time" phases. If you drink loads of milk, you shouldn't ever have to worry about them again.

And PJ, did you ever get them before? If not, looks like you've been kissing someone who's got'em. <_< Oooooooooooh~ http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Bah, guess I should say some sort of piece on the trust bit.

I trust friends, even people I just talk to for a bit. What I meant was, in real life trust doesn't exactly exist. Anyone would lie if it benefitted themselves. I guess that could be seen as negative, but I really don't think it is. Humans are naturally selfish. If you don't care about someone, you wouldn't care if you lie to them really.

Mouth ulcers, the...kissing disease? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

Canker sores are not a form of herpes, and they're not generally considered contagious.
A definitive cause of canker sores is not known, but there are several possible factors (trauma caused by braces, biting, etc and a weakened immune system resulting from stress, vitamin deficiency, illness, etc are commonly named). Hope they go away quickly for you; I know how painful those can be.

I once had something that looked like a tomato seed trapped under my tongue. White/khaki type round thing surrounded by a little flesh and on a (small) string of... tongue flesh stuff.

Of course, I tried to cut it out with a pair of scissors (I eventually managed to get out by time/sharp objects). Man, do I do stupid things sometimes. Though, it probably came out on its own.

Uhhh... wow... just wow...

On a related note I have this strange polyp thing at the back of my throat. I didn't think much about it until someone else who could see it better realized that it was bigger than my uvula!

But it should go away in a day or so...

No special term for those things around here, other than "mouth hemorrhoids".

Vodka kind of incinerates them though overnight.

about the white sore spot. I have one too sometimes, we call it spru (one of those little indo words that slipped in our family) but we're the only ones who have a name for it (I'm sure it has some fancy latin name).
and my lips look like a battle field at the moment, this weather is destroying them D:

Solly. I know you're a good writer, just. ._.
A string. OMG.
But the scarier thing is, I know exactly what you're talking about. So it makes it all the grosser.

And I thought ulcer was only in your stomach. :<

ulcer is just a generic term for a sore where a membrane has 'eroded' away.

ie: the eroding of your stomach mucus membrane causes a stomach ulcer.

or.. the eroding fo the membrane in your mouth causes a 'mouth ulcer' or cankersore

alot of biochemical weapons (read=anthrax)cause skin ulcers..those..arent pretty at all *shudders*

A mouth ulcer/canker sore is different from a (herpes) cold sore/fever blister. One is caused by a bacteria and usually relates to stress while the other is a virus.
