Evangelion had alot of science, religion, and psychology involved.
And thats one of the best and most beloved anime series out there.
Ghost in the Shell is pretty much futuristic CSI with HYOOOG BOOBIES.
Another good'un.
Lain...Is probably a good anime, but I got so fhkn lost while I was watching the series that I couldn't tell if it was a good one or not. It has a lot of...psychology involved too, I think. Really I dunno wtf was going on with that anime. Crazy ass japanese and thier Katamari Damacy and weird game shows and thier Excel Saga-type animes.

Tingle I doubt those girls knew what they were talking about when they mentioned Murphy's Law. They look too ditzy.
LOL look at that pic reminded me of when and friend of mine and I were making fun of how anime characters close thier eyes when they laugh or smile. Anime is so dumb sometimes.
