Thanks to Ryna for providing the screenshots, I've made some translations of the options menus in PSU.

* I'm not sure about this one. It translates as "prepare environmental data." Maybe it's just to set everything here to its default setting, where by "environment" it means your computer. So, it could set up these options to what it best suited for your computer' performance.

Motion Calculation
[_] CPU [_] Hardware

Does that mean that this game supports a physix card???

I am afraid that I won't be able to play PSU on my own PC, cause I am stuck with a slow processor, and this game is gonna use alot of processor power as far as I can see (just like PSOPC/BB) http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Hmm... no shadows settings.
Round shadows? Proper soft shadows? Only time will tell...

oh, its going to be released for the xbox360, so yeah! I guess it can use the physix engine thats why there a choice for CPU or hardware. Shadows can't be it, those are calculated by your videocard. the CPU is normaly used for special effects and AI. I really hope they will make use of physix after seeing games like cellfactor.

Guess I am gonna get me a 360 when the game gets released here.

Question: does the resolution setting has any widescreen resolutions at all?
Since it's coming for the 360, wouldn't be so farfetched for widescreen support on the pc version...

So wait, does this mean we should be using FireGL cards instead of Radeon with this game?

qoxolg
Apr 19, 2006, 02:05 PM
Why FireGL? those are just like the Nvidia Quadro usefull for 3D applications, they won't give any extra performance in games.

PrinceBrightstar
Apr 19, 2006, 02:25 PM
i'm saying for use with the motion calculation setting.

qoxolg
Apr 19, 2006, 02:35 PM
aha, well I think a 360 would be a cheaper idea.

I don't really know what they mean with motion calculation, but I was guessing some good looking physics, but I might be totaly wrong http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

here is some nice trailer of what physics can look like:

110% chance ill set everything to highest possible settings (exept for physics cuz i hav radeon and im not sure if it will work well)

I took it as an elective back when I was in high school. I loved the language so much that I continued to study it on my own even after graduating. That's actually one reason I enjoy translating this stuff so much; it gives me more stuff to study with. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Exactly! That's exactly how I feel, and I'm loving every second of it! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif I can hardly wait until tomorrow when the servers will actually be open so we can get some more screens and hopefully some movies and music. I really, really want to hear some more music. XD

Heh heh! Game music dorks, unite!

I hate that I have to go to work first thing in the morning, shortly after the beta servers open up in Japan, but at least that will keep me occupied so that once I get home that afternoon, there should be a decent amount of pictures and other media around here to translate and whatnot. The anticipation, though, is going to kill me. x_x;

Yay! I'm not alone in my desire for PSU's music. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I've only heard a little of Parum's overworld theme (the music that plays in the forest/plains area) and I would absolutely love to hear that in mp3 form. Gib music!

That only seems logical, considering the fact that the rest of the menu there seems exactly the same as the BB menu...
