I'm posting a new poll for which console people will be buying PSU for...this is because of the new information about the xbox360 release. So what is it PC, PS2, or Xbox360???

PS2 since I already have that and my PC isn't great.

PC for main use.
I may get the PS2 version anyway since they're all compatible.
I MAY get the 360 version for collection purposes (I'm crazy like that).

PS2 for main use, and PC for when I'm out or at school. Plus I'm a crazy collector, gotta have everything I can get my greedy hands on.

PC since my computer is pretty much the best gaming pc atm http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Plus I can use my PS2 controller for the PC, I don't have a keyboard for my PS2, and I don't have a 360.

PC... my PC, though not as new as I want, its more than enough for PSU. 2.4Ghz Athlon 64, x800pro Ati Radeon and 1024 ram should suffice, it does for EQ2 http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

PC, because I love my LCD more then my crappy TV. I'll probably have the PS2 version as well for when I'm on the go and such.

Yeah... I'm gonna be broke...

Actually I might consider the platform that handles the best.
I remember getting the XBox version and finding out the analog could as wel been a digital pad. Needless to say I continued on my dreamcast. At least that was untill the CD failed by overuse (this was the second CD I had, stupid EMI cd's).
I am sure that ST won't be making such mistakes, but to be sure I am keeping an eye out on reviews. With the game beeing saved server sided it will be easy to switch, that is a big plus for me.

im gonna be on the 360 because I already have one and my pc already has enough games on it.

I'm gonna be on PS2 but I was wondering, do you need an internet connection to play offline? cuz it would be a pretty bad move from ST...

_Tek_
Apr 21, 2006, 04:56 PM
No, ps2 won't have that for offline.

You see pc has the constant online aspect because of the ability to be patched, and since most people have a broadband connection on their pc they're gonna have an online connection 24/7 anyways.

PS2 because it's the cheapest and doesn't require gameguard, or take up harddrive space, and the fact that the PSTwo has a build in network adapter so the system costs 129.99 (My PS2 will be dead by the time November rolls around).

PC

Mainly because I can improve the resolution and I actually need a game in HD on my TV. I was originally going to get the PS2, but since I've upgraded my PC I've changed my mind.

Don't got a PS2 or a PC capable of running games, so 360 for me http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

PS2 because I have more access to it.

Apr 22, 2006, 08:45 AM
ok ok so I guess the concensus is PC or PS2 because no one has a 360...well when they are actually released to the public openly...does anyone think that gfx will be better for 360? or will it be like playing backwards compatible games?

Ysaja

I'll play it on PC, don't have 360 or PS2.

Malus
Apr 22, 2006, 10:46 AM
I'll play it on my 360. While I do have a PS2, I prefer the 360's controller and I'm fairly sure my laptop won't run the PC version. However I do plan on importing the PS2 collectors edition, for the sake of having the extra goodies. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Rubesahl

Honestly I'll also be importing the special edition and will probably buy the english version too >_>;; Unless they surprise me in the release with multi language options http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Well I actually want to know a couple of things about PSU being on Xbox360...

[1] Are the graphics going to be better than PS2?

[2] Are PC, PS2, and Xbox360 servers going to be universally connected?

If both of these are a yes, then I'm on Xbox360. Actually only as long as the second question is answered yes. Oh and hey dude I'm in college right now, I still think its a better idea to go with the 360 and just bring it to college with you.

Well I can tell you that the graphics are obviously going to be better on Xbox 360 than PS2, hell a retarded monkey on PCP could tell you that lol as far as the second question, since FFXI has cross-platform gaming between 360, PC, and PS2, I'm sure PSU will have that too. Otherwise the 10 Japanese dudes who bought a 360 won't have anyone to play with lmao

360 definitely. My first brother is going to play on PS2 and my other nrother is going to ploay on the PC.

Thanks hypersaxon. I kind of figured the graphics would be better, but I didn't know if ST was going to put the effort into making them better for the 360 or just release what they've got on 360.

I think that they'll release what they have. Didn't SE do that with FF11?

If anything, the game will look as good as the PC version I'm sure. FFXI on 360 for example looks like the PC version of the game rather than the PS2 version, and I doubt Sonic Team would release a game with PS2 visuals on Xbox 360 cuz that would just be retarded.

It wouldn't be the first time a company has done that.

Xbox 360 is able to utilize Graphics at PC-Maximum level. So I'd imagine the X360 graphics will be at that calibur.

The developers are too lazy to produce that. Some of the graphics in a lot of the 360 games could have been done on the Xbox, but the developers were really lazy on the Xbox and didn't push the hardware to its maximum and they are being lazy on the 360 as well. It is capable of a lot but you will probably never see its full potential achieved. ch, wastrals.

PS2 probably, for PSO at least I liked the controls better on a console.

Jinto117
Apr 23, 2006, 12:42 AM
Well when you play the 360 version it will be in high res. Like previously stated it should look pretty much similiar to the PC verion. Not to bash on the PC users but I read in the PSU edition of Electronic Gaming Monthly that Phantasy Star, PSO, and PSU were made to be played on the console. Can anyone tell me what benefits the PC offers that they enjoy so much? Cause I have the power to run it at max settings but I'm just curious.

Rubesahl
Apr 23, 2006, 12:54 AM
Well, max settings? lol I can plug in a controller and have the same console experience. I can even connect my PC to my TV if I wanna see it on TV. I like the fact I can use skype to voice chat with friends http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif not to mention the possibility of putting an mp3 on the back. One thing though I think is always easier on PC is capturing higher res screens and videos, usually consoles don't do that as well. For example PSO, with those mini screens. FFXI also with mini screens that are sadly mini even in the PC version O_o;; I also like being in my room (don't have a tv http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif haven't seen tv in years honestly) and use my PC often so its more comfy for me. Not to mention I use my 5.1 headphones which double as a headset http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif That's about all I can say I guess.
