I was waiting in anticipation in the den for the UPS man to deliver my copy of PSO........"Hunter or ranger.....*ding dong*.....?" I got my hands on it, skipped dinner, and poped it into my DreamCast. I made my first character......a short HUmar named Dark Viper-X......and went online. It was like a whole new world to me lol........I got in a game with some lv 25s and breat ruins, and got to around lv 10. I stayed up all night playing and leveling up.....ahh those were the good ol days. What was your first day of PSO like?

When to Gamestop to pick up my copy... pooped it in my DC and me and 3 other neighborhood friends played it for 3 days straight XD! Afterwards, my gf calls me and comes by to take my DC powercord ^_^;

I had my mother pick it up at EB on her way home from work at ~5:00pm. I didn't get home 'til 9:00. I created a Yellow-suited FOnewm, Kalbelgarion, and played through the first three quests. It was remarkable that I had enough willpower to put the controller down and get some sleep. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

It was a couple weeks before last Christmas. I couldn't wait to see if they had PSO at Circuit City. When they did for $20, I bought it A.S.A.P.

I popped it in my DC, and made a tall-partly skinny RAcast named Maverick. I beat a couple quests, and then went online, leveling Maverick up massivly after about three hours of non-stop online play.

The sad thing was, when I tried to get on again, the servers were down for the rest of the day.

Heh... you guys were lucky to get online so easily. I had to hunt down a site that would allow me to play from Canada...had to find a suitable free ISP. There's a billion in the US... but when I got online, I can't remember when I got off. INstant hookage!!! Met many, many people there...

I worked in a small video game store and picked up a copy the day it came out in the US (1/26/01) I believe. I made a HUnny named maia and hopped onto Miranda 09. Lots of people online. In my first game we did Endless Nightmare 1. we got housed. Then we beat the dragon and got into the caves and got rocked by evil sharks. My other consoles collected dust for the rest of the year.

I forgot how my first day of PSO went, all I know is it took me over a week to figure out how to do the three hit combo and how to feed my mag.

Also, when I finally got online with it, It took me another week to figure out that you could get back to the lobby by using the teleporter in the hunter's guild. I never took the time to look there b4...........

My 5-days of PSO learning:

Day 1: Got the game. Woohoo! Popped it into DC and created a FOnewearl. She got her ass handed to her by a Rappy. Somehow couldn't master 3-hit combo. Somehow managed to make it to Forest 2. Then died.

Day 2: Tried a quest. Died. Tried it again. Died. Managed to beat it on 3rd try. After that, went to Forest 2. Couldn't even dare to fight a GigoBooma. Yikes!! It has sharp teeth!

Day 3: Introduced it to my friend. He made a temporary RAmar on my DC, and managed to master 3 hit combo in ONE try. (Bah-su-turd!) He taught me 3 hit combo. Gotten waaaay better after that. Fought Dragon and got flattened under its feet. Save & Quit, restart, then cleared Forest again, and again.

Day 4: Went online for first time. Met 2 idiots. Played together. And beaten Dragon!! We celebrated. After that, they headed for Cave, but I was too scared to go there. Went offline. And beaten Dragon by myself! Yesu!! Talked to good ol' Tyrell. Felt good. Went to Cave. Died.

Day 5: Went online again. Met couple nice people who taught me lots of stuffs about PSO. They even showed me Ruins. Fun place. Yesu, yesu. Gotten way much more better. Went offline and played Cave until I could beat De Rol Le. Which I did the next day.

Well, after that, I was no longer a n00b..... =)

Day 1:I went to Best Buy, picked it up, took it home. Found out it didn't like my ISP, spent the next 6 hours getting it online. Went and played Contra because my friend wasn't getting it until the next day and we wanted to start at the same time.

Story of the GC:

I come home from college which is an hour away for the weekend. when i get home i see two packages. I quickly run down stairs. Package #1. PSO EPisode I & II. Package #2. Gamebit. I quick put the gamebit on my screwdriver and begin opening the case. So many screws later i encounter the heat sink. I find the only way for me to continue is to forget about the fact that i'll be bending the heat sink a little. I press on. I pull out my switch i had made the week before in anticipation. i use the bottom hole method and reassemble. I decide not to mount the switch at all and instead have it hanging to the side. I pop open lid, hit the switch, I'm in. beautiful island... anyway being a PSO vet, i create a HUcaseal and pick episode II. After a long struggle of traps, i make it all the way to Barba Ray. I defeat him. (at this point the clock moved to 12:00 AM)

I got it three days after the release. That night I made my HUmar (Kent, I still have him, level 105 black suit bright green hair). Beat the forest and did two offline quests, I was about level 6 or 7 before I tried going online. Gained a few levels, got addicted, and before I knew it, somebody was asking me "Hey Kent, what's it feel like to be level 10?" after which everybody in the game started laughing.

And from that point on I was hooked onto online play.

Multiplayer gaming wasn't new to me, but I picked the game up right on release.

Got home, and made an HUcast right away. I had waited for this game for so long, I knew exactly what I wanted as a character.

Gave my HUcast the name ABDUR101(as has been my online username for many years) and got the Skyly ID.

Had alittle trouble at first performing the triple hit combo, but eventually got it.

I remember first being bitch slapped by a boom and it scared me, because it took so much of my health away, and I was a hunter with only a saber, so I made it a point to get behind the enemies to attack.

Leveled up afew times, logged all my ISP info in and went online. Everyone was soooo nice, and soooo new.

Questions like "How do I enter a game?", "How do I make a game?" and "Whats the password?" were so common, I was amazed that no one read the manual, they had all rushed to play. o-O

Got online, made alot of friends and met alot of people. It just felt so good to go online and play straight through the night and then saying goodbye to people as they had to go.

And getting those little instant emails from someone on your card list was so damn great, you were like "OH! I got mail!" XD

The joys of someone asking "Can I have your guild card" made you all warm and fuzzy inside ;_;

I need PSO so bad

It was December 2001. I'd read about PSO v1 in EGM and then PSO v2 was already released by the time I saw the review of v2. I was like "Pay to play?! I'll get v1 then!" I saw v2 in stores and had the money to buy it but opted for v1 as it was free online.

It took me a few weeks to find a place that sold PSO v1. I had to borrow money from my mom on my grandmother's birthday to buy it. She obliged after a long begging period inside a 'buffet-type' restaurant.

I played the next two months offline making two characters(HUcast then RAmar) since I had only two vmu's. I remember killing the first enemy I faced as I had took a few minutes to practice the three hit combo in the first room. I also had created a custom set of configurations for each attack in the customize menu for the first row which I still prefer today.

I had AOL and was PO'ed that it didn't work with the DC web browser. I used a friend's ISP to connect online with PSO finally after trying Netzero. I didn't know about free isp's that worked with the DC at the time.

First day online was great. The cheating had been around for months and I had no clue of it. My 2nd character was a nice level 65 when I came online so I could enter the highest difficulty level of v1.

Second day online I was hit by every destructive code I've been hit by up to now. NOL, PK, RSOD, & BSOD. I thought my game was bugging out seeing how some guy in my team was killing me with techs in Pioneer 2, then watching the game freeze, then reset when I cam back online, then watched my character turn into an NPC.

I jumped on the v2 bandwagon really late and my first, and probably last HL runs out in some 11 days. I wish now that I'd bought v2 back in December when it was about a couple mths old since it was a huge jump over the game that had me hooked to the controller for 6 months. I missed the huge wave of players too.

I got PSO a week before it was meant to come out over here. Got my aunt to give me some cash as i had none, bought the game and spent 3 hours playing and dribbling...over the Sonic Adventure 2 demo.

When i finally got round to PSO i was totally amzed by the graphics, how my newly made Deathscythe ran and shot his handgun, and wondered why i had no more weapons after i kept dying. Went online with Gypsy a week later, and had a great laugh.

I remember the first time I played PSO. I just bought the game at Target, and I brought it home. I locked myself in my room and didn't come out. After 10 hrs or so, my mom knocked on my door and was a little upset that I spent so much time on it. When I asked how long I had be on, and she told me, I didn't believe her. Then I saw the clock, and I'm like: "HOLY COW! WHERE DID MY LIFE GO?!?!" It was somewhere inside that little box I call my DC. That's where a large portion of my life goes eventually. I continued to play everyday untill I had 100hrs on it. I then relised that I had only owned the game for less then a week. I had to slow down a bit or my parents might of flipped out and I could of had my DC thrown out the window. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

My brother bought it and I had to wait until he was done, made a Blue HUmar named Darrin-22 (which was my old screen name here at pso-world). Didnt get to go online till a neighborhood friend (which is also a PSO-World member named Heie) showed us.

I remember when i first started playing. I imported it the day it came out in Japan. My friend in Japan told me all these great things about it so I did. He was right. Glad I listened to him.

Haa, that first day sucked big time for me XD

Me and my friend had just copied the game and we were all ready to play! (that was huh, a month before the release)

I started my character named BWS-1 and leveled him offline in Forest till level 12 XD. Then, it was getting late, so I got home and started to play again only to realise my game wasn't compatible! I mean DUH! Like I knew I couldn't play like other normal games! -_-

Anyway, I started over the same night and for the past month, I leveled him to level 82 offline then bought the US version and started over by recreating BWS-1 and leveled till level 2 then I got online for the first time.

And I kept that char ever since. I consider myself lucky I never had him corrupted O_o
