Party System Question

So you start a party in the lobby and then start a game from there? From the way the quest system works this seems like the only way it'd work.

I think one of the reasons PSO worked as well as it did were because people had to join games. Like, you'd join a game, maybe things would end up working out real well, trade cards, new friends! To start a party requires a lot more communication beforehand and doesn't let people join midgame.

yes from what i know you form a party in the lobby then go to the counter to do a mission and what not.

But is it possible to just go down to the planet while not on a mission, and have people join later?

Yes that works, if a mission is being done then depending on when you joined and how you do- changes the final result of it.
