View Full Version : Recording your own combat voice

I just wanted to see what people thought on the subjetct. Would you want to be able to record your own sounds for your character? I am still not sure because there would be a few problems, as cool as the idea might be.

Well, the problem about swearers and kiddies wouldn't be a big issue if everyone could hear only his/her own custom voices.
I mean, perhaps you can overwrite one of the voices, so while the others hear the default for that voice you hear your modded version.
Might work, no?

I can imagine it now... a little tiny voice saying...

OMG!
GG!
PWND!!

Hey, that's not half bad XD

i agree with ennie. it would be good if you could only hear your own custom voice and you would also have to choose a default that everyone else would hear.

I would just directly rip the clips from that Juggernaut video. I can see it now:

*Slapped by pseudo-Booma* "Are you <bleep>in' <bleep>?"
*Slapped again by pseudo-Booma* "Don't you know the <bleep> I am? I'm the Juggernaut, <bleep>"

=/ That and I would just be a huge red CAST character who only used the knuckle class of weapons.

LOL, great idea, but think about the voice/file transfers necessary, and the f**king verbal abuse http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Don't forget. If PSU has the same similer feature that checks files, it may find out the voice files have been changed and "force-download" the original files.

looks like the people have spoken. although it would seem like a neat gimmick for the game, it would be exploited and would possibly "worsen" the game (for lack of a better word, also im tired. LEAVE ME ALONE!! T_T)

final verdict: no voice recording. let it be written.

The only think I would want is Zetta from Makai Kingdom screaming "I'm a freakin Overlord!" every time I level up....that would be awesome.

Simply too many problems with that. People could be using sounds that aren't even human. Like guns sound effects from CSS or something.

I agree, too many problems, including moans with each swing..... >_>;;

Here's something simple (tho I know it's not in the game, right?): the ability to record your char's name. That way when you introduce yourself or rather, when you come into a group, let's say it would say (Name of char...in your voice) has entered the group. Of course, it's not perfect & some would try to abuse it. Another possibility is you could type it out so a computer voice could use a voice program & say the name for you, based on how you pronounce your char's name.

very retarded idea...Xbox live is bad enough. Someone is bound to make silly monkey noises everytime he is hit...

regular voice chat would be alright through, as long as there are mute options.

ShadowDragon28
Apr 24, 2006, 05:14 PM
No. Bad idea.... PSU music is actually shaping up to be a bit more exciting, and lot's of goofballs and jerks polluting PSU lobbies with their nonsense an stupidi antics with live voice would really frack up what should be a fun experience, not a miserable one. (Example: the Humar "Bruce Lee"...)

It's bad enough that will be *some* people that are going to abuse Cut-In Chat and the ordinary pop-up speech bubbles (like a bit to many did in PSO in cetain Lobbies) to the point of excessively being annoying, and acting in ways of unwarrented immaturity to the 10th power.

Players should *not* have to suffer with horrible noise/annoying voice pollution as well.

Personally.... i would like to record my own voice for my character.

Or maybe, record words and have them alter to be that particular Voice type.

(it'd be hard for me to make a valid voice for a female )

I mean, well there are personal reason, then again i'm sure you'd all be pissed off to hell if you hard to hear a character's Dramatic Death cry afew times in a row.

All that matters to me is that there's some way to change or customize the voice features ingame. If I have to listen to the exact same three noises in EVERY single three hit combo or attack, I think I'll go insane. That video of the girl fighting nearly drove me nuts within ten seconds of her attacking things. I was excited about voices before, but if my options are THAT annoying crap vs nothing, I may have to go with nothing. Which sucks. ._.

I change my opinion on this. I forgot that PSU is going to have WAY more people in an area at the same time. Voice chat just won't work with that.

text chat is the only way, and even then you'd might end up with the too much of that if enuogh peopel are together.

vitius137

we werent talking about voice chat, but you make a good point none the less.
