i was wondering if anything has been said bout ps2 needing a hard drive like FFXI, i ask b/c i might get a pancake ps2 so i wont have to worry about my laptop, that is if this 360 server hubub is 4 real. well if it needs the HD wont i need to find a "retro" ps2?

It's already been stated that you will not need the HDD to play PSU on PS2.

SHINEY ^_^, but i still hope this 360 thing is a miss translation. btw would u happen to no how much a pancake PS2 would run 4

I reckon too much money... For how dated the system is at least... Last I checked it was like 149.99-179.99...

I just know this game will be the early demise of many pstwo consoles considering the amount of hours people put into ps games.

The 'pancake' PS2 is 129.99 on ebgames.com.
Thats not that bad imo.
There is always Ebay tho.

I may have to a new one as well. My current one doesn't have card slot ability anymore.
I was thinking of getting a refurbished one, since in canada they're still about 159.99

I may buy a pancake PS2 for this game too to save my launch model the stress of continuous nonstop gaming binges.
