View Full Version : Which to pre-order PSU PC, JP version?

I'm seriously considering it, now that I know my PC should be able to run it. I was about to go ahead and pre-order via Play Asia, but I remember people here mentioning other sources. Apparently some companies are reputed to get things shipped faster than others.

Where at the moment, is the best place to pre-order it?

Do you think I should try and do it through the JP Sega site directly? I live in the UK, so...

Thanks in advance http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

I seriously think you should get the English version, just wait a bit more, i know it hurts, but it pays when you see the English version and you have to buy the game twice :/
Well buy it if you the money to buy it again, or if you really understand japanese like hell!

Edit: Forgot to say, i reccomend Play-Asia

I'd also have to say play-asia.

They may not offer free shipping but their fastest orders are pretty damn quick. I live in the U.K. and I've received my orders 2 days after games have been released over in Japan.

Exactly, and it's true.

remember, avoid NCSX like the plague, they didn't recieve the game for 2 weeks after episode 4 came out, and then i pretty much canceled my order and moved over to another importer.

Knowing me, I'll probably wait until it's NA release. Sure, seeing as we don't know if all servers are going to be connected and such, it's gonna be a gamble.

That, and while you guys start amassing information, I'll have a little something to work from when it's released here. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I miss the old PSO where it had support for multiple languages right out of the box =(

I'll be pre-ordering from play-asia too http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif I don't mind buying the game twice really >_>; I play it months before its domestic release http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif I do not know enough Japanese to understand everything but I know enough to have a general idea of everything. Besides there's so many things in katakana which is so simple to read >_>;; Anyways I plan on studying Japanese professionally so I like immersing myself as much as I can http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif Plus I want to hear the original voices too ><; I hate dubs, I like everything in its original language, including things like the grunts... Honestly I'll only move out from the import version if the servers aren't connected and who knows if my friends won't mind importing http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

I do admit importing isn't for anyone. Takes a bit of general knowledge in Japanese to be able to enjoy it a bit more, including things like identifying yes or no options and simple stuff like that. Plus some people just don't like passing through the trouble. It all depends http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

So wait? If you pre-order a japanese copy of PSU, do you need a Japanese PS2 aswell. Wow this sentence sounds more retarded than I thought!

yes StoicOne, you will need a Japanese PS2 to play the game. As well has a JP Hunters License. I took Japanese in High School and can still read some of it, but learning it is no easy feat >.< as most of you probably know by now lol. =)

Learning to understand basic japanese isn't a huge feat...

Learning to read it though is.

Rubesahl I'm practicaly exactly in your situation. My japanese is enough to game on, my only big flaw is my minimal kanji knowledge. It's funny though, since I keep thinking to myself "what if it has the multiple languages on it already?"

Now wouldn't that be lucky?

I wish you guys would all get US version so we could all play together in case JP/EU/US servers will be separate.
I like PSOW peeps. It'd just suck a lot if you'd get stuck in JP version while the rest of us are on US servers.

I agree with Peenk, unless in some great future where all regional servers are connected, you guys should get the US release, it would be a hell of a lot easier to make games and groups.

Well I'm from the U.K. so there wouldn't be much point in me getting the US version really. But I'm really pretty sure that the servers are going to be linked internationally. It'd be stupid for them not to be.

Lol, same, i'll probably import the US version, seeing as getting a EU version makes no real sense...plus it will be cheaper.

So wait, it's been confirmed that the JP version won't support multi-languages?

mechatra

No no, there's still a chance it'll be multilanguage dont get me wrong, We're just unsure atm.

Okay thanks everyone, I thought Play Asia would be the way to go.

I'm learning bits of Japanese too, and I plan to buy both the JP and the EU release. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

Reason? Well, I can afford it (just about), and it's for my site (see sig, lol plug!)

Uh, just thought I'd update that I changed my mind about the whole order for now. >_<

I think it'd be wiser to wait until the E3 newsrush comes through, and there's a confirmation about PSU's server state (region-linked or not), and of course, whether there will be PSU Wii http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

I have bought a multilanguage XP pro off ebay so I can play any versions that come out eventually - I will probably stick to the JP servers though, as I did for BB.

do many people speak english on jp servers?

MasterChuck

From PSO experience, no linkzone.

That was part of the charm of PSO though, the whole cultural diversity thing. They can't seperate everyone this time around. Where's the fun in that?
