now... I've probably said a few ties of occasions where I have been mistaken for female. now I can sorta understand why if I'm a distance away from them and facing the other way or up a ladder not facing them... but the occasions are happening alot lately >_>;;

But at my job... I talk on the phone and do directory assistance. now... I honostly don't think I have a female voice >_>; in fact I don't think I've ever payed attention to my voice.

so why oh why do I get called Ma'am on the phone? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif why oh why do cashiers call me Ma'am? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

I'd really like to know exactly why it is alot of people seem to think I am female o_o;;;;

Could be worse. You could have a lisp and mumble and not be understandable and make people upset about it.

Taco Bell Cashier conversation:
-
Can I have a Steak Chalupa with Baja Toppings?

A Steak Chalupa with Baja sauce?

Baja toppings.

What?

Toppings on the Chalupa, I get a choice of three, Baja please.

Sorry I can't hear very well or something.(sarcastic tone)
-

And I get my damn chalupa with regular toppings. :/

Well I think I was being clear or maybe I need to speak up or take a speech class.

So yeah, that probably didn't help relate to your situation but I just felt like mentioning.

Eep, that sucks. The only place I'm ever mistaken for a girl is online, but that's really nothing too uncommon.

Why did you make your avatar a picture of a female?

What does your avatar have to do with it. If I went and judged your gender by avatar I would say you're an insane small creature that is easily abused by hitting the "jump" button.

as shadowpawn said... the hell does my avatar have to do with it? >_>

if you wanna know, personally I like how the female in it looks

now I am talking about in the real world here, not some electronic forum, where there is basically no sight or sound from a person >_>

If you have long hair, a lot of the senior people will think your a girl when looking from behind. It could also be you're clothes and overall appearance. As for on the phone, with just a change in your tone and pitch, you could switch from sounding like a girl to a guy and guy to girl.

Could be worse though, it sucks a lot more when you're a girl and people think you're a guy http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

You don't look like a girl. I have seen you! You are as much as a girl as I am a fat greasy man with stink spots on my shirt. Those people who thought you're a girl has never seen one in their life.

edit: And your voice being mistaken as female, I think that is maybe cuz you talk so softly. :> Or maybe you have a nice voice!

Wow, eclair, you're not feminine at all! I can't understand people calling you that. o.O

And yeah, perhaps you talk too softly. That's funny, actually. :3 *puts a bow on eclair*

I've already been told by someone I work with that I should start carrying a "man bag" <_<; in other words a purse D:

and if it's talkign to softly I dunno http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif though then again there are alot of people around who usually have to ask me three times what it was I said >_>;

I'm mistaken for a girl a lot too, Eclair. So you're definitely not alone in that boat.

Work out to develop a large masculine build, and then get spiked hair (or some other manly haircut). After that, if anyone thinks you look like a girl...

Being mistaken for a female only happened to me once, in a restaurant...But I'm not exactly feminine, my hair's just longer than the average male's (6-7 inches). I don't even think he was paying attention to my appearance.

He probably just (stereotypically) assumed you were a waitress at the restaurant. To him, I hand out another P H A I L http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h179/Rej_Ay/P_H_A_I_L.png
