I know they showed a few on the technique section in PSU here, but are there any other you have used? What are the techniques like? Any advice for an aspiring young force-to-be when PSU is released in North America? If you have screenshots, it would be greatly appreciated if you posted some.

Have you looked at this guide?
http://www.pso-world.com/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=2355

It needs to be updated a little bit, but it should answer most of your questions.

Check out the PSU screenshot thread for more technique pictures than you can handle.

Only fire, ice, lightning, and earth of both normal and ra, plus resta and regene were available on the beta

Here's some descriptions of the techs I used in the beta. (Thanks to Inazuma for the corrections.)

Foie: Launches a single fireball straight ahead. Speed and size increase with level. Can only hit a single enemy. Has the chance of setting an enemy on fire.
Rafoie: Creates a radial explosion at the target point. Blast radius increases with level. Can hit multiple targets. Has a chance of setting enemies on fire.
Barta: Sends a wave of frigid air across the ground, possibly freezing enemies in its path. Has a penetrating effect, allowing for multiple enemies to be hit. Distance increases with level.
Rabarta: Causes the ground to erupt with shards of ice at the target point. Can hit multiple enemies as well as possibly freeze them. Blast radius increases with level.
Zonde: Launches a ball of electricity straight ahead. Has a penetrating effect, allowing for multiple enemies to be hit. Also has the possibility of shocking an enemy.
Razonde: Strikes the target area with numerous bolts of lightning which originate from the sky, possibly shocking enemies. Blast radius increases with level.
Deega: Launches a burning mass of rock straight ahead. Size and casting speed increase with level. (There is a status effect associated with this tech, but I forget what it does.)
Radeega: Causes the ground at a target point to erupt with fire and rock, damaging enemies within its radius. Blast radius increases with level. (As with before, it can cause a certain status effect, I just don't remember what it did.)
Resta: Heals your HP as well as the HP of allies.
Regene: Cures you and your allies of any status effects, including poison, burning, jellen, zalure, etc.

EDIT: I've corrected the descriptions of zonde, resta and regene according to Inazuma's info. Thanks! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

zonde works like barta, it can hit multiple enemies.
also resta and regene can heal others even at level 1.

Whoops! I shouldn't have assumed it was the same as in PSO. I never had a party to heal with either resta or regene, so I never noticed that. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif Do you recall how either resta or regene change as they level up? I think I recall more HP being restored as my resta leveled up, but do other things change? Perhaps the radius it affects?

Interesting. I never noticed that about zonde.

Zonde can penetrate along with Barta.

As for Resta, I believe the range increases as you level it up. I was never able to level up Regene enough to notice a significant difference. However, it can heal all status effects at level 1 (or at least all the ones that were in the beta).

i got my regene to level 11 (when all techs have a big change to em). the range got very large.

What is the status effect of the deega techs? Does anyone know and remember?

It inflicts "silence" on an enemy. It prevents enemies from casting techniques.

...Lets hope that not many enemies use that. That would be about just as annoying as "Shock"

Or maybe ill just Deega them first http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Deega....what a funny word.

In the description of Rafoie it says

"Creates a radial explosion at the target point. Blast radius increases with level. Can hit multiple targets. Has a chance of setting enemies on fire"

and it's very similar to Rabarta which says

"Causes the ground to erupt with shards of ice at the target point. Can hit multiple enemies as well as possibly freeze them. Blast radius increases with level"

What do they mean by "target point" does that mean that Rabarta can now be cast at a range like Rafoie can?

Silence huh?.......sweet....Well then, that adds to another tactic that I can develop.

Right. Rabarta targets just like rafoie (except you can't lock-on and turn to directly face your target as you cast) as opposed to PSO's version that's cast outward from yourself. That's more in line with what PSU's gibarta should be.

I was just thinking. Isn't there a new status effect called "virus"? I believe Espio posted a shop list and there was a trap that inflicted it. Any ideas on what it does?

What is up with the flame and the electricity around some people, I saw that it isn't a status effect because there was no status symbol next to the people's names that had it.

Lyrise

That's the effect of using certain (stamina) units. Garment Aura, and Electroheart respectively.

Fleece

The Flame was an armour plug in and the electricity was because of their rifle, i think

hmm I'll miss techniques mixed with biological hunters and rangers, but it's for the best.

Now Forces are more unique than ever. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I always meant to buy a virus trap when I went to an item shop to see what it does to enemies, but I never did because I spent all of my meseta on tech disks and new staves. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif Gah, I should've done it on the last day when SonicTeam gave everyone an extra 100,000 meseta. Ah, well. Hindsight, as they say.

The translation I did for the trap described the status effect as an infection. To be honest, though, that makes me think it might just be a special status effect for mechanical enemies. Basically, a mecha's version of what poison would be to an organic creature. Maybe? I don't know. Maybe someone else was actually able to use one of those traps and can let us know.

you know the most interesting status effect in games I find fascinating are the 'possession' status effects,
where a player turns against their allies and attacks+damages them like a monster would (they basically become an a.i.-controlled enemy for a period of time), this status effect would be something I would expect a Dark Force to use.

Dark Force did use something similiar in PSII, but the characters were unable to harm each other, instead they simply couldn't do anything. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
